Chapter 583 Experts from Abroad (3)
Jessica looked at him for a long moment before giving him a hug. "Don't worry, I'll be fine," she said.
With that, she finally turned and walked away, growing more distant with each step.
Nathan's deep eyes were filled with a complex mix of reluctance and worry.
He tried to reassure himself. Ocean City was so big, and Jessica had already changed her name. In such a vast sea of people, she wouldn't be so unlucky as to run into that person again.
Ocean City.
As soon as Jessica landed, she called Colt, Cordelia, and Nathan.
It was just approaching evening in Ocean City, but everything felt so familiar to Jessica.
Dragging her suitcase, she didn't hail a cab. Instead, she quietly walked through each street, feeling the summer evening breeze of Ocean City.
Why?
Even the scent of the wind felt so familiar, like it was hidden in her memories.
Had she been here before?
Lost in her thoughts, a child suddenly bumped into her.
Startled, Jessica quickly steadied the little boy. "You okay?" she asked.
Before the boy could respond, a man who looked like a butler hurried over. "What happened? Did she bump into you?" he asked.
The boy shook his head and honestly replied, "I wasn't looking when I got out of the car and bumped into this lady."
Jessica then noticed the boy's purple lips and flushed cheeks.
Instinctively, she asked the butler, "Does this child have a heart condition?"
The butler frowned and replied curtly, "What's it to you?"
Jessica shrugged. "Sorry, I was just concerned."
She didn't want to be nosy.
With that, she glanced at the boy one more time and continued walking with her suitcase.
At that moment, the boy's mother stepped out of a luxury car.
It was Rose.
She stared in shock at Jessica's departing figure, unable to believe her eyes.
From inside the car, she hadn't seen clearly, but that silhouette really looked like Jessica.
By the time she rushed out, Jessica was already walking away with her suitcase.
Even so, that figure still looked so much like her.
No, she must be mistaken.
How could it be Jessica?
She even forgot to ask if her son was hurt.
The boy, thinking she was upset with Jessica, tugged at Rose's sleeve. "Mom, it was my fault for bumping into that lady. It wasn't her fault. Don't be mad."
Rose snapped back to reality and apologized, "Isaac Kelly, I'm sorry. I was sending a message in the car and didn't watch you properly."
"It's okay. I didn't get hurt anyway."
Isaac smiled warmly at Rose.
As a premature baby, he looked small and frail, always seeming delicate.
But his smile was so warm, never dampened by his frequent illnesses.
Holding Rose's hand, he couldn't help but say, "Mom, that lady was amazing!"
Rose asked, puzzled, "Why?"
"She knew I had a heart condition."
Isaac's eyes were especially bright. "Isn't that strange? She didn't listen to my heart or see my medical records."
Rose's face grew suspicious. Was that woman really not Jessica?
It couldn't be!
Jessica was just a young girl, what did she know about fashion?
The woman earlier was dressed impeccably, adorned with understated yet expensive luxury items, and could tell Isaac's condition at a glance. How could that be Jessica, a mere medical student just starting out?
