Chapter 537 Be Gentle (3)
Jessica felt completely content and happy in that moment.
Her husband, a man who commanded respect and power outside, was so gentle with her.
Jessica gazed at him, her beautiful eyes radiating warmth and affection.
"James, let's get our marriage license tomorrow, okay?" Jessica said firmly, enunciating each word. "I've thought it through. I love you, and I want to give our child a home. I used to be so timid and indecisive. Thank you for dispelling all my doubts."
The next second, James cupped her chin and kissed her deeply.
Jessica hesitated for a moment, then quickly stood on tiptoe to meet his kiss.
Not far away, a pair of resentful, sinister eyes took in the entire scene.
Rose's hatred seemed to turn into sharp blades, shooting out from her eyes.
If looks could kill, Jessica would have died countless times by now.
She clenched her fingers tightly, her sharp nails digging into her palms.
She had been following them from the beginning.
She saw James openly bringing Jessica to such a place, watching Jessica bask in others' flattery and admiration.
All of this was what she had dreamed of.
But James had never made their relationship public, nor had he ever brought her to such a place.
Yet he gave all of this to Jessica.
Even if it was a matter of who came first, she should have been the one by James's side first.
What did that bitch Jessica have that she didn't?
At this moment, the jealousy in Rose's heart had turned into flames, almost burning her to ashes.
The mansion.
The two of them had bought a lot of baby supplies, and by the time they got back, it was already late.
Olivia smiled warmly and said, "The nursery is all setup today. I'm airing it out right now. Mr. Kelly, Mrs. Kelly, would you like to take a look?"
James smiled with satisfaction and gently asked Jessica, "Do you want to see it?"
"Sure."
Jessica gave him a sweet smile and, wrapped in his arms, they went upstairs together.
Olivia watched their backs, a contented smile on her face.
It had been a long time since she had seen James and Jessica so in love.
Jessica was delighted with the carefully decorated nursery.
The walls were soft blue and pink, the entire room was covered with plush wool carpets, and it was filled with all kinds of children's toys, like a mini amusement park.
Jessica couldn't help but say, "It's so beautiful. I just wonder if the baby will be a boy or a girl."
James wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and whispered in her ear, "Boy or girl, as long as it's our baby, I'll love them."
Jessica had never felt as fulfilled as she did now.
James stroked her hair and said, "Take a day off tomorrow, and we'll get our marriage license first thing in the morning, okay?"
"Tomorrow?"
Jessica hesitated, "I've already taken so many days off. If I ask for another, I really can't bring myself to do it."
James, not as domineering as usual, nodded and said, "Alright, we'll do it your way. When do you have time tomorrow? It only takes half an hour. I'll arrange for someone to be at the courthouse, it won't take long."
Jessica felt especially warm inside because her husband had become more considerate, no longer the self-centered man he used to be.
She thought for a moment and said, "I'll try to finish my work by eleven in the morning. Can you pick me up at the hospital?"
James pinched her nose affectionately and said, "You're the only one who dares to make me your chauffeur. And I'm only willing to do it for you."
