Jessica was stunned, looking at Michael, then at Lily.

Jessica's eyes reddened with urgency as she said, "This is Lily, my best friend. How can I not care about her?"
Michael chuckled lightly, his cool fingers brushing Lily's pale face as he said, "Tell me, did I threaten you? Didn't you beg me to be with me?"
Lily's face was as white as paper and burning hot. She didn't dare to look up or meet Jessica's eyes.
She bit her lip and said softly, "Jessica, you misunderstood Lawyer Watson. I chose this myself. I'm honored to be Lawyer Watson's companion. After all, so many women want to be with him, and he chose me."
Lily could feel that Michael wanted to humiliate her in front of her friend.
