Chapter 357 She No Longer Wants to Be a Doctor (3)

Nathan asked, "Excuse me, does Jessica live here? I'm her teacher. Can you call her for me?"

The servant replied, "Sorry, Miss Evans isn't home. She didn't come back last night either."

Nathan pressed on, "Are her parents around?"

"Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Evans aren't home either," the servant said. "Why don't you come in and wait? But I can't promise when they'll be back."

Nathan couldn't wait. He needed to find Jessica ASAP; otherwise, he wouldn't be able to relax.

Later that evening, Kylie rushed to find Jessica after work and shared everything she'd learned.

Jessica was almost in despair. She still didn't want to believe it and said quietly, "Professor Howard said he'd clear my name."

Kylie frowned and said, "When I went there today, the hospital director was in Professor Howard's office. A lot of people heard the director say you'd face serious consequences. But no one heard Professor Howard defend you! Jessica, it's very likely that Professor Howard is letting you take the fall for his own career! We need to think of another way to save ourselves quickly!"

Jessica shook her head firmly, "No, Professor Howard isn't like that. He wouldn't do that."

Jessica believed her judgment of people couldn't be that bad. If Nathan were really someone who couldn't distinguish right from wrong, he wouldn't have protected her when the patient's family caused trouble, nor would he have called her to his office to counsel her.

Just then, Jessica's phone vibrated, and a fixed-line number made her pause.

Kylie was startled and said, "Oh no, could it be a call from the school?"

Jessica panicked and hesitated for a long time, but realizing there was no escaping it, she finally answered the phone.

It was the principal himself. His stern voice came through, reprimanding her for her mistakes and finally informing her of the school's disciplinary decision.

The principal said, "Come to the school in the next two days and complete your withdrawal procedures. Ocean City University will never allow a student as unqualified as you to graduate. This is a disgrace to our school's reputation!"

Jessica wanted to explain and make one last effort, but the principal just hung up.

Jessica's tears flowed immediately, feeling extremely wronged.

Kylie asked, "Jessica, what did they say?"

Jessica cried in despair, "The principal wants me to withdraw from school. I don't want to study medicine anymore. I don't want to be a doctor anymore. Why did all my efforts lead to this?"

Kylie didn't know how to comfort her and could only hug Jessica, saying, "Don't say that! There will always be a way. There must be."

But she felt helpless and couldn't think of any way to prove Jessica's innocence. Even Jessica knew Kylie was just trying to comfort her.

Now, even the principal had made a disciplinary decision against her, leaving no room for negotiation.

Jessica calmed down and said gloomily, "Kylie, thank you. I want to be alone."

Although Kylie was worried, she had to go back to the department for her night shift. She reminded, "Don't do anything rash. If you want to talk to someone, remember to call me or come to the department to find me."
