Chapter 396 Private Alliance (2)
But they still pretended not to know, so Gerald wouldn't see through their ambitions.
Linda also came forward and asked in a concerned tone, "Yeah, Dad, what's wrong with you? Where do you feel unwell? Why did you suddenly get hospitalized?"
Gerald couldn't immediately tell if they were simply visiting him or if they knew something and were here to gather information or inquire about the will.
So, Gerald calmly said, "It's nothing serious, just old age catching up with me. I'm just here for some rest and recuperation."
"Oh, that's great to hear."
Linda cursed Gerald for being cunning in her heart but said, "Your good health is our greatest blessing!"
Gerald looked at them suspiciously and asked, "Who told you I was here? I didn't have anyone notify you because I didn't want you to worry."
Linda knew Gerald would be suspicious, so she quickly said, "We went to the old house to visit you today, and the maid told us you had fainted at home that day. George was startled and immediately had someone find out which hospital you were in. We couldn't be at ease until we saw you were okay with our own eyes!"
Gerald nodded half-believingly and said, "I'm fine."
Linda and George exchanged a secret glance.
Then, she said meaningfully, "Dad, I remembered something, but I'm not sure if I should say it."
Gerald frowned. Whenever Linda said something like that, it meant she was about to stir up trouble.
So, he coldly said, "If you think you shouldn't say it, then don't."
Linda was left speechless and extremely embarrassed by Gerald's response.
George, who had already discussed this with Linda at home, immediately chimed in, "I'll say it. A few days ago, Linda wasn't feeling well, so I took her to the hospital for a check-up. We happened to see James with another woman in the obstetrics and gynecology department."
Gerald's previously disinterested expression suddenly changed.
He immediately asked, "What did you say? Are you sure you saw it?"
Linda smirked and said, "At first, we were afraid we might have been mistaken, so after they left, we specifically went into that consultation room and asked the doctor. It turns out James was there with Miss Morris for a prenatal check-up. This Miss Morris is already almost three months pregnant."
Gerald suddenly erupted in anger, "Nonsense! James and Jessica are doing great; he broke it off with that woman a long time ago!"
George said, "We thought the same. James and Jessica seem quite harmonious on the surface. So, I had someone check at the city hall. To our surprise, they had already divorced over a month ago."
Gerald felt a chill in his heart, followed by overwhelming anger that swept through his entire body.
He couldn't believe these two kids had been divorced for so long and kept it from him!
Especially James, that bastard, who had gotten Rose pregnant.
But how could the Kelly family allow a woman with such questionable intentions as Rose to marry in?
Linda, trying to help Rose marry into the Kelly family smoothly, said, "Dad, I think this is a blessing in disguise! James and Jessica have been married for over two years without any children. But this lady is already carrying the Kelly family's grandchild. Isn't that a blessing from above?"
Gerald squinted his eyes and asked, "So, what do you think we should do?"
"Of course, we should have that lady marry into the Kelly family and make James take responsibility," Linda said, recalling, "After all, when Jack got Pearl pregnant, you said that the Kelly family is not a family that shirks responsibility. Now that James has done the same thing, you can't play favorites."
