Chapter 109 She Doesn't Want To Say It

Jessica looked at him, a tear rolling down her cheek. "You've broken me; there's nothing left for you to ruin."

James felt a pang in his heart and let go of her. He hadn't expected her to say he was ruining her.

He pondered, 'Her heart was probably already with Jack.'

Jessica, like a discarded doll, gave him a sad smile. "I hope you and Rose are happy."

She meant it. No matter who Rose was, James was the man she had loved for so long. She couldn't bear to see Rose end up loveless like she did.

But to James, her words stung. He would have preferred if she had hit him, cursed him, or demanded something like other wives. But she didn't.

She was calm and determined to cut ties with him. Even though he had already brought Rose home, he couldn't stir any emotion in her.

"In a few days, I'll have Sean send over the divorce papers," those were the last words he said before walking out the door.

The tension in Jessica, like a tightly wound string, finally snapped the moment he closed the door.

Pain surged through her, both physical and emotional. It felt as if every bone in her body had shattered.

But she got out of bed; she didn't want to stay in his house like a mistress.

Jessica had no choice but to call Lily for help. "Lily, are you home? Can I crash at your place for a few days?"

So, in the middle of the night, Jessica dragged her luggage to Lily's house.

Lily was furious when she heard what happened.

She felt an intense urge to confront James immediately and give him a piece of her mind!

"So, he brought that shameless woman home tonight and still slept with you?" Lily was so angry she could barely speak.

Then she asked, "Jessica, tell me the truth. Has James ever made love to you before?"

Jessica finally couldn't keep it inside any longer and finally spilled the secret she had been hiding for so long. She lowered her eyes and said softly, "My first time wasn't with him."

Lily was stunned. "What? Are you kidding? We're always together. Apart from James, I can't recall you ever being with another man."

Jessica recounted the night she was set up by Joan and Pearl.

Lily was dumbfounded and heartbroken. She hugged Jessica, choking up, "Oh my God, you're so foolish. You should have come clean with James from the start. Now, with such a deep misunderstanding, you're the one bearing all the pain."

Jessica shook her head, "No, I don't want to say it. It's meaningless. He won't give up Rose. We're getting divorced anyway. Besides, even if I told him, do you really think he could accept a woman who has been with someone else as his wife?"

That would only make her seem more pathetic.

Lily gritted her teeth in anger, "Joan and Pearl are too vicious. Jessica, you can't let them off the hook like this. They're pushing you to the brink! Listen to me, go to your father and explain everything, or call the police! Even if it leads to mutual destruction, you need to vent this out! You can't keep it bottled up any longer!"
