Chapter 474 Discovering the Affair (4)
James only took a glance and understood the whole situation.
Jessica was still taking photos and said angrily, "I need to take more pictures so Lily can see Jacob's true colors."
How had she not realized before that Jacob was this kind of person?
She had known Lily for a long time and was quite familiar with Jacob as well.
Every time she saw Jacob being so considerate and gentle with Lily, Jessica was incredibly envious, thinking Lily must be the happiest woman in the world.
Having a marriage supported by both families and such a loving fiancé.
But now it seemed, women are too easily satisfied!
At this moment, Jacob came out of the store with that woman, and Jessica quickly hid in the stairwell, avoiding being seen by them.
James followed her into the stairwell and asked, "Are we still going to the movies?"
Knowing her well, he figured tonight's date was probably off.
Sure enough, Jessica shook her head and sighed, "I'm not in the mood anymore."
James frowned and asked, "What are you going to do with all those photos?"
Without thinking, Jessica replied, "Of course, I'm going to show them to Lily! Otherwise, she would never believe Jacob betrayed her. They've been each other's first love since high school. It's been almost ten years now."
James didn't say anything but took her phone and deleted all the photos she had just taken.
Jessica complained, "What are you doing? I took those with great effort, and you just deleted them all?"
James looked at her deeply and warned, "Promise me, stay away from Lily. At least, don't meddle in her affairs so much. Her family's situation is very complicated, trust me on this."
Seeing his serious expression, Jessica forgot to be angry and looked at him suspiciously, asking, "What’s going on with her family? I know more about Lily and the Stewart family than you do. Uncle Adam is a good man, and Lily has been my friend for over ten years. Stop trying to scare me!"
James knew that Michael's biggest enemy was Adam, and he wouldn't spare the Stewart family.
Worse, John was now involved in the events of the past, and Michael hadn't taken out his anger on Jessica only because of his own influence.
If Jessica continued to be so close to Lily and accidentally ruined Michael's plans, the consequences would be unimaginable.
James repeated firmly, "I'm not joking. Actually, everyone wears a mask, and only those closest to you will ever show their true face. Do you understand?"
Jessica shook her head in confusion, "I don't understand. James, what are you trying to say? I really don't get it. Lily is my best friend, and you have no right to stop me from seeing her."
James knew Jessica was very sentimental and wouldn't easily give up her friendship with Lily.
If he forced her, it would only backfire.
James held her hand gently and said, "One day, you'll realize that I'm not wrong."
Jessica looked at him thoughtfully and asked, "Is there something you want to tell me? Or did Uncle Adam offend you? Didn't we agree to be honest with each other from now on? So tell me, why do you suddenly want me to stay away from Lily?"
