Chapter 101 Asking for Mr. Jack Kelly
Jessica treated him that way, he decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. Honestly, she didn't care! James thought, 'Only that guy outside, the one she hides so well, could make her care, right?'
At the Kelly family's old mansion, Gerald saw Jessica and frowned, "Jessica, why do you look so pale and thin?"
Jessica didn't want to discuss her issues with James, especially with Linda around. So, she just smiled, "Maybe it's the hot weather. I haven't felt like eating."
Gerald looked skeptical, "How are things with you and James? Are you both okay? Has he dealt with that woman yet?"
"He's been busy, but we're fine," Jessica said, not very convincingly.
Gerald sighed, "If you have any problems, tell me. If he won't handle that woman, I'll step in and deal with it."
Jessica worried Gerald might clash with James over this. She forced a smile, "No need, Mr. Kelly. He's been good to me."
Jack's eyes lingered on Jessica, but he tried not to make it obvious.
Gerald said, "Alright, let's dig in. Jessica, you need to eat more. Seeing you so thin is heartbreaking."
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Kelly," Jessica nodded.
After she sat down, Jack took a seat next to her.
Just then, a servant rushed in, looking awkward, "Mr. Gerald Kelly, there's a young woman at the door asking for Mr. Jack Kelly."
Gerald was surprised and looked at Jack.
Jack's mind raced, 'Could it be Pearl? Is she crazy, coming here to find me? Is she ready to go all out because I'm over putting up with her?'
Gerald's suspicious gaze lingered, "What's going on?"
"Grandpa, this woman is crazy. Ignore her," Jack dismissed, signaling to the servant, "Is the Kelly family a place where just anyone can come? Throw her out! If she comes again, throw her out."
Linda guessed this was some trouble Jack had caused recently. She quickly added, "Exactly, if she disturbs Mr. Gerald Kelly's peace, who can bear that responsibility?"
Jack was nervous, glancing at Jessica, afraid she'd think less of him.
But unexpectedly, Gerald said coldly, "Since she's here, invite her in and ask what this is all about."
