Chapter 96 Pearl Is Pregnant
John slapped her again and snapped, "Still arguing? Even James told me everything. Want me to take you to the hospital to confront Kevin? If it's true, we're getting a divorce tomorrow, and I'll kick you out of my family!"
As they argued, Pearl burst in and stood in front of Joan.
"Dad, you can't treat Mom like this," Pearl shouted. "She's given everything to this family. How can you do this to her?"
Pearl knew John didn't like her much, so she usually kept quiet, especially when he was angry.
He pointed at Pearl and yelled, "You're just like your mother, always sharp-tongued. Don't think I don't know how you two have been treating Jessica."
"Isn't that because you treat us differently?" Pearl shot back. "Jessica and I are both your daughters, but you treat her way better. If you loved Jessica's mom so much, why did you cheat on her and have me with my mom?"
John, furious, raised his hand to hit her. But Pearl didn't flinch and shouted, "Go ahead, hit me. If you harm the Kelly family's child, our whole family is doomed!"
John froze, shocked. "What did you just say?" He felt a chill and didn't dare to think further.
Pearl touched her belly and proudly said, "I'm carrying Jack Kelly's child. Soon, I'll be his wife!"
Joan's sorrow turned to joy. She grabbed Pearl and asked excitedly, "Is this true? Pearl, are you serious?"
Pearl showed them the medical report from the hospital. "Of course, Mom. Dad, look! If anything happens to this child, can you handle the consequences?"
John, dizzy with anger, looked at the report. Instead of being happy, he scolded, "Shameless! You've disgraced me!"
Pearl snorted, "Dad, aren't you being unfair? Jessica can marry into the Kelly family, am I not up to snuff?"
John, pained, said, "Do you think Jessica's life in the Kelly family is easy?"
Pearl retorted, "That's because Jessica is incompetent! The child in my belly is the Kelly family's first grandson. Just wait and see. I'll be the one to bring glory to the Evans family!"
