Chapter 298 Humiliate Her
Jessica figured James might embarrass her, but hooking up with Pearl? That was a low blow she didn't see coming.
James barely glanced at her, no guilt in his eyes. He turned to Pearl, all flirty. "Long night, huh? Bet you're starving. Try Olivia's cooking. From now on, if you want anything, just have Olivia whip it up for you."
Pearl looked up at him, all starry-eyed. "Thanks, Mr. Kelly. You're so sweet."
"That's it?" James laughed. "I'll make sure you're well taken care of tonight."
Their dirty talk hit Jessica's ears like a slap.
Jessica's fists clenched, nails digging into her palms.
But she didn't feel the pain; her heart was already shattered.
Skipping breakfast, she got dressed and headed out.
As she passed the living room, she could still hear Pearl's giggles from the kitchen.
Jessica pretended not to hear and sped up.
Olivia, feeling bad for her, quickly packed a sandwich and some milk.
"Mrs. Kelly, take this for the road," Olivia said.
She sighed, glancing towards the kitchen, whispering, "What's going on with you and Mr. Kelly now?"
Last night seemed fine. She even saw James bike Jessica home.
Why'd he bring another woman back overnight?
Jessica gave Olivia a grateful look. "Thanks, Olivia, but I'm not hungry."
She really wasn't.
Everything in this house was James's. She didn't want his food, his drinks, or his money anymore.
Olivia watched her leave, feeling sorry for her, and sighed.
When she brought the breakfast back to the kitchen, James's eyes darkened.
Olivia said, "Mrs. Kelly isn't eating and still has to go to her hospital internship. Can she make it through the day?"
James replied coldly, "That's her problem. No one's stopping her from eating. If she's hungry, she'll eat."
"Mr. Kelly, Jessica's always been like this, doing her own thing," Pearl chimed in, seizing the chance to badmouth Jessica. She then tried to feed James a spoonful of porridge.
James didn't feel any satisfaction from his revenge. He pushed the porridge away and said coldly, "I'm going to work."
Pearl quickly grabbed his suit and knelt to help him with his shoes, trying to please him.
But it didn't earn her a smile from James.
Pearl didn't care, believing that with Jessica's attitude, no one could stand her.
If she just put in more effort, showed James she was gentler, more considerate than Jessica, and better in bed, she'd win him over. Thinking of this, Pearl felt optimistic about her future.
Looking at the spacious, luxurious villa, she laughed, silently mocking Jessica for not knowing how to keep a good man like James.
Pearl wandered around the villa and suddenly thought of checking out Jessica's room.
She went to Olivia for the key but got turned down.
"Do you know who I am?" Pearl said sternly. "Take a good look, Mr. Kelly brought me here. Don't you realize who's going to be in charge around here soon?"
