Chapter 300 Kicking Jessica Out of the Master Bedroom
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Jessica jumped a bit and asked, "Who's there?"
James' deep voice came through. "It's me."
Jessica quickly slurped down her instant noodles and tossed the cup in the trash.
Then, she opened the door and said, "What's up?"
As soon as James walked in, he caught a whiff of the noodles.
He'd been worried she hadn't eaten all day and might've messed up her stomach.
But it looked like she wasn't one to let herself starve.
He called her out, saying, "Is Olivia's cooking that bad? You'd rather eat instant noodles alone?"
Jessica's face turned red, and she snapped back, "I just saw someone at the table that made me wanna puke. I'd rather eat noodles alone in peace."
"Are you talking about me or Pearl?" James sneered, giving her a once-over. "You're cold, can't even stand your own sister. No wonder you treat me the same. You say you love me, then you flip the script."
Jessica shot back, "Why Pearl? You know how she treated me. Why bring her here to mess with me?"
James' handsome face got closer, and he asked in a low voice, "Are you jealous?"
Jessica turned away and said coldly, "No. I don't care who you bring home. Just keep her away from me."
James' expression darkened, and he nodded. "Fine, then from now on, move to the storage room downstairs. It's quiet there. No one will bug you."
Jessica looked at him, shocked.
He actually wanted her to live in the storage room, which was worse than the servants' quarters.
Seeing her hesitate, James said flatly, "Since you don't wanna be Mrs. Kelly, there are plenty who do. If you don't wanna have my kids, there are plenty who will."
"I see," Jessica said with a bitter smile. Without arguing, she said, "Don't worry. I'll clear out the closet tonight to make room for you two."
With that, she started packing her clothes.
In the storage room, Jessica looked at the busy Olivia and said, "Olivia, I'm sorry to make you clean this place so late."
Olivia said with concern, "Mrs. Kelly... How did things get so bad between you and Mr. Kelly? This storage room is tiny, damp, and cold, without even an air conditioner. It's getting colder; what will you do?"
Jessica forced a smile and said, "I'll just use an extra blanket. Don't worry about me."
"Seeing that woman acting all smug makes me feel it's not worth it for you. How can Mr. Kelly let her stay in the master bedroom? Isn't it gross?" Olivia said indignantly. "I heard she's your sister. How can there be such a sister in the world?"
Thinking of Pearl's sneaky ways, Jessica advised, "Olivia, don't get on her bad side for me. Our issues have nothing to do with you, and you shouldn't get involved."
Her words made Olivia feel even more heartbroken.
Finally, after cleaning the storage room, Olivia brought her a desk lamp and made the bed, saying, "Mrs. Kelly, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I believe Mr. Kelly will regret this soon."
