Chapter 573 Jessica is Missing (2)
Jessica covered her ears, feeling like Rose was a demon standing before her.
She broke down, sobbing, "No, stop it! Just leave, get out!"
Rose smirked, "Jessica, stop fooling yourself. The truth is, James wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants both you and me. In his heart, we're on the same level. So when your dad hurt me, he was bound to make your dad pay, to avenge me. But if you can accept this, you can stay by his side. After all, he still loves you, right?" With that, Rose let out a cold laugh and silently left Jessica's hospital room.
Jessica looked around, everything seemed to turn gray, like a black hole was swallowing her whole.
She hugged herself tightly, enduring the endless oppression and pain, choking out, "Why? Why did you lie to me? Over and over again?"
Jessica sat quietly in the hospital room, all night long.
She thought, maybe James did care about her.
But as Rose said, James had too many people in his heart.
Not just her, but Rose, and Rose's child too.
And James made it very clear, she could leave, but the child had to stay.
What did that mean?
It meant he cared more about the child she was carrying.
Maybe he did love her, but not that much.
Otherwise, how could he betray her trust time and time again, lifting her to heaven only to cast her into hell?
Jessica felt a deep, bone-chilling cold that she couldn't shake off.
As she watched the sunrise outside, she made a phone call.
"Mr. Howard, I've made up my mind. Let's go ahead with what you suggested."
She let go of all her reluctance and regrets.
If James really was responsible for John's death, she knew she couldn't take revenge on him.
Because she loved him.
She had already lost one family member, and she would rather leave quietly than fight him to the bitter end.
She looked westward, in the direction of her father's grave.
"Dad, please forgive me. I can't avenge you. I'm so tired, really tired."
At Kelly Corporation.
In the conference room, the executives didn't dare to lift their heads.
The proposal had just been torn apart by James.
At that moment, Sean burst in, drawing everyone's attention.
James glared at him coldly, "Do you want to lose your job?"
"Mr. Kelly, there's a problem."
He rushed to James' side, whispering, "Mrs. Kelly is missing."
As soon as Sean finished speaking, James stood up immediately, ignoring the puzzled looks from everyone, and hurried out the door.
Walking briskly, he snapped at Sean behind him, "What were those bodyguards you hired doing?"
"Someone disguised themselves as Mrs. Kelly, wearing her clothes, and left the hospital. They followed her downstairs, but when they saw her face, they realized it wasn't Mrs. Kelly."
Sean wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, nervously continuing, "When they went back, they found Mrs. Kelly was already gone from her room."
