Jessica returned to The Evans family right after work in the evening.
She had been worried all day, afraid that John would go to The Kelly Corporation and clash with James, or that James would give him a hard time.

John said calmly, "I already signed the acquisition agreement. But it was my own decision, not because James forced me."

She said worriedly, "Dad, if James forced you, you must tell me. Don't keep it to yourself."
John smiled gently and said, "Why don't you believe me? The reason I willingly signed the agreement is that I believe James won't harm me. Because I can see that he truly cares about you."
Jessica was stunned, a warm feeling passing through her heart, but she was also very curious and asked, "How can you tell he truly cares about me? What did you talk about today?"
