Chapter 561 Exposing Rose (3)
Ambrose wasn't about to let her go without an answer.
In a low voice, he said, "Since you don't want me bothering you anymore, Ms. Evans, why not put my doubts to rest? Or are you scared you might actually be my sister and don't want to take the blood test?"
Jessica stared at him in disbelief, but doubts about her background began to surface.
She had been burned by Pearl before, so she was extra cautious, fearing Ambrose might be setting another trap.
After thinking momentarily, she said, "Fine, I'll take the blood test with you, but it has to be at a hospital of my choosing, and we take a cab, not your car."
Ambrose wasn't known for his patience, especially when it came to negotiating. But instead of getting angry at Jessica's conditions, he simply smiled and said, "Alright, we'll do it your way."
So, they hailed a cab, and Jessica chose the hospital where she was interning to have their blood drawn.
After the blood was drawn, Ambrose took the samples and handed Jessica a business card.
"I'll let you know when we get the results. My contact information is on this card. If you run into any trouble, give me a call," he said before leaving the hospital.
Jessica stood at the hospital entrance, feeling like she was in a dream.
Could Ambrose really be her brother?
And what about her parents?
She suddenly felt a pang of regret, wishing she had asked more questions.
Skyline Club.
Ambrose called over his personal assistant and handed him the blood samples. "Marshall, get a sample of my father's blood and compare it with this one immediately."
Marshall, a bit excited, asked, "So, if Ms. Evans' DNA matches your father's, that means she really is your sister?"
"Of course!" Ambrose replied, recalling Jessica's features. "Her eyes remind me of Sofia Mellon when she was young. Maybe if we keep trying, we'll succeed one day."
Marshall nodded and added, "By the way, Mr. Mellon, Ms. Morris is out of danger and has woken up. She doesn't know you saved Ms. Evans. The manager wants to know how you want to handle it."
Ambrose's expression grew complicated at the mention of Rose. "I'll handle it myself," he said firmly.
Then, as if remembering something, he asked, "What about James? Is he still at the hospital?"
Marshall replied, "After confirming that Ms. Morris and her son were safe, he left but arranged for someone to keep an eye on them."
Ambrose thought about his son, his first child at the age of thirty, whom he hadn't even seen yet.
His heart filled with urgency and anticipation.
He grabbed his coat and hurried out.
At the hospital.
Rose was fully awake.
The first thing she did was look for James, but it was Sean who was there.
"Where's James? Why isn't he here?" Rose demanded, glaring at Sean. "You didn't tell him I was in danger, did you? Just wait, if James finds out you kept this from him, he won't let you get away with it!"
Sean sneered, "Mr. Kelly was here, but he left. Ms. Morris, you should give up. Mr. Kelly and Mrs. Kelly have a strong bond. No matter how hard you try, what can you do? Don't overestimate yourself."
