Chapter 547 Left Her at This Time (1)
After a long day of exams, Jessica finally got back to the car and let out a deep sigh of relief.
James wrapped his arms around her and asked, "Rough day, huh? What do you want for dinner tonight?"
Jessica grinned and teased, "Aren't you gonna ask how I did on the exams?"
James playfully tapped her nose and said, "You're a genius. Of course, you aced it. No need to ask."
Jessica burst into laughter and replied, "You got it right! This time, everything went so smoothly. It was all stuff I had reviewed."
James held her hand, his eyes shining with warmth as he looked at her. "In that case, we can get our marriage license tomorrow without any worries, Mrs. Kelly?"
Jessica's heart fluttered with excitement, and she nodded eagerly.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, almost more impatient than he was. "I'm on vacation right now, so let's go first thing in the morning, okay? I want to give our baby a proper home as soon as possible."
James pulled her onto his lap and said earnestly, "Jessica, thank you for believing in me. This time, I won't let you down."
Jessica was moved by his serious and sincere demeanor. She softly replied, "I believe you."
James held her close, feeling an overwhelming sense of contentment.
He said casually, "By the way, after we get our marriage license tomorrow, let's visit grandpa and your parents' graves."
"Okay."
Jessica's gaze grew distant, filled with happiness. "If their spirits are still around, they would be so happy for us."
The next day, James woke up at the crack of dawn and started getting ready, carefully choosing his suit and tie.
Jessica, hearing the commotion, quickly woke up as well.
James spoke gently, "You should sleep a bit more. It's still early."
"Then why are you up so early?"
Jessica asked knowingly, looking at him.
James leaned in, his hands on either side of her, their foreheads touching, and said playfully, "Today is the most important day of our lives. Of course, I need to dress up. That's why I'm up early."
"Then I need to get ready too!"
Jessica looked at her noticeably rounded belly and frowned. "But none of my nice clothes fit anymore."
James smiled indulgently and said, "Silly Jessica, you look beautiful just the way you are. No matter what, you're always beautiful."
In the end, James chose a dark blue suit with a silver-gray tie, even styling his hair meticulously.
Jessica admired him and couldn't help but exclaim, "James, how are you so handsome?"
James chuckled and replied, "If I weren't this handsome, how could I be worthy of you?"
He then took a scarf from the coat rack and wrapped it around her, gently scolding, "It's so cold outside, and you always forget your scarf. How can I trust you to take care of our child in the future?"
Basking in the happiness of being pampered like a child, Jessica felt incredibly content.
When they went downstairs for breakfast, Olivia smiled and said, "Mr. Kelly and Mrs. Kelly, you two are such a perfect match."
James, in an exceptionally good mood, told Olivia, "You have the day off today. We're going out and won't be back."
Olivia cheerfully replied, "Thank you, Mr. Kelly. Thank you, Mrs. Kelly. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together."
Feeling a bit embarrassed by Olivia's words, Jessica quickly sent Olivia a bonus through Facebook.
