Chapter 316 So Indifferent, So Vicious (2)
With every word Jessica said, James's face got darker and darker.
He stared at her like she was someone he didn't even know. Could Jessica really say stuff like that?
Shaking his head in disappointment, he muttered, "When did you turn into this? So cold, so cruel?"
Jessica wobbled a bit but forced herself to stand firm in front of him.
Judging by James's expression, she had done it.
She had managed to push James, the guy she loved the most, towards another woman.
James would never understand how helpless and desperate she felt.
It was like holding a knife and cutting her own flesh.
Even though her hands were shaking, she had to grit her teeth and stab.
That's exactly how Jessica felt now.
She smiled and told James, "I'm not sorry! She deserved it, and so do you. I curse you both; may you never find happiness!"
With that, she walked away without looking back.
James was so mad his temples were throbbing.
He had thought that once she knew the truth, she'd feel guilty and couldn't handle it.
He had even thought about how to comfort her.
But now, it seemed he had overthought it.
He didn't get Jessica at all. He used to think she was so kind, but maybe that was just his imagination.
Those were just the masks Jessica wore!
Rose felt super pleased but pretended to be worried and said, "James, are you going to go after her? She seems really mad."
"No," James said firmly.
His voice turned cold as he bitterly added, "What right does she have to be angry? It was her father who hurt you first!"
Jessica's unreasonable, harsh, and cruel behavior had completely changed his view of her.
He couldn't help but feel he had misjudged her before.
Then, he said to Rose with guity, "Don't take her words to heart. She was probably just angry. Considering the harm her father caused you, it's understandable that you can't let it go. I get it."
Rose's hope for James rekindled, and she said gratefully, "James, thank you for saying that. I was always afraid you'd think I was being harsh and deliberately making things difficult for her father."
"Not at all," James said, comforting her. "Didn't you want to go out for a walk earlier? Come on, I'll take you now."
Rose looked at him affectionately.
How wonderful! After seeing Jessica's true colors, James was finally back to her!
In the villa, Jessica watched as the sky outside gradually darkened, but James still hadn't returned.
She thought bitterly, 'James must be utterly disappointed in me, right?'
Even she herself couldn't believe she had said such cruel words.
It wasn't until night that James returned.
He didn't immediately go to find Jessica but asked Olivia why Jessica had gone to the hospital today.
Olivia naturally told him about Pearl.
Just then, Pearl came downstairs and said sweetly, "Mr. Kelly, you're finally back. I've prepared your bathwater. Why don't you take a bath first?"
As she spoke, she linked her arm with James's.
But the next second, James slapped her so hard that her face turned to the side.
Pearl covered her face and looked at him in disbelief, tears immediately streaming down. "Mr. Kelly, what did I do wrong?"
"Bitch!" James cursed.
He grabbed her by the collar, lifted her up, and said through gritted teeth, "What exactly did you say to Jessica? Did you really think I let you stay in this house to cause trouble?"
