Chapter 102 She Is Pregnant With Jack's Child
Jack stopped and said, "Grandpa, this lady's nuts. Don't take her seriously."
Jack was clearly trying to keep Pearl out, his resistance obvious. Pearl acted like a lunatic, saying whatever came to mind without thinking. He couldn't afford to get dragged down by her!
But Gerald was firm and told the butler, "Bring her in. I want to see what she wants with Jack."
So, the butler brought Pearl in.
Jessica, who had been indifferent, now looked a bit flustered seeing Pearl. After all, Pearl was part of the Evans clan and, technically, her sister too.
Pearl ran up to Jessica, hugging her, "Jessica, you're here too! I'm so glad. Now I'm not so scared."
Jessica was confused. What was Pearl up to?
Even Gerald looked suspiciously at her, "Jessica, who is this girl?"
Though Jessica didn't like Pearl, she didn't want to make a scene. So, she awkwardly explained, "This is my half sister."
Pearl put on a ladylike act and bowed to Gerald, "Mr. Kelly, hello. It's our first meeting, and I didn't bring a gift. Please bear with me."
Gerald's attitude softened, probably out of affection for Jessica. After all, this was her half sister.
Gerald said kindly, "We're all family here; no need to be formal. The servant said you were looking for Jack. What's up?"
Jack looked nervous, watching Pearl, afraid she might spill the beans about his other women.
But Pearl's next words nearly gave him a heart attack. She clutched her belly, crying, "Mr. Kelly, you have to help me. I'm pregnant with Jack's child, but he..."
Jack angrily interrupted, dragging her, "Pearl! What nonsense are you spouting? Are you crazy? Get out! Get out of here!"
Jessica was shocked, unable to believe what she was hearing.
"Jack, let go of me. You'll scare the baby!" Pearl struggled, looking every bit the victim.
Linda sensed something was wrong and angrily accused, "Where did this woman come from, trying to scam us? Jessica, your sister is shameless, blaming Jack!"
Gerald roared, "Everyone, shut up! Jack, you too, let go of her!"
Under Gerald's command, the living room finally quieted down.
Pearl sobbed as she showed the records and reports to Gerald, "Mr. Kelly, look, these are the hospital records and reports. I'm already five weeks pregnant."
Gerald grabbed the papers and hurled them at Jack. "Take a good look! How could the Kelly family produce someone as shameful as you? You're a stain on our family name!"
Jack, hands trembling, gathered the scattered documents, his thoughts a whirlwind. The idea of fatherhood had never crossed his mind! He still felt like a kid stumbling through the maze of adulthood.
Linda rushed to defuse the tension, "Mr. Kelly, this smells fishy! Jack's too trusting, always falling for schemes."
