Chapter 299 Soon, She Would Be Free!

Olivia took one look at Pearl and instantly pegged her as trouble.

With a sneer, she shot back, "Mr. Kelly only brought you here for a fling. Mrs. Kelly's room is off-limits for you."

Pearl, not backing down, smirked and said, "Oh, I'm going in, whether you like it or not! Are you Jessica's little lackey? If you don't hand over that key, I'll tell Mr. Kelly and get you fired!"

Olivia, unfazed, replied, "Go ahead, try me!"

Fuming, Pearl stomped back to the bedroom she and James had crashed in the night before.

It was the second-best room in the house.

But why was Jessica in the master bedroom while James was stuck here?

Shouldn't the man of the house get the best room?

Pearl was livid.

Seeing the sheets on the floor, she kicked them aside in frustration.

She knew there was some drama between James and Jessica, which was probably why he brought her here to mess with Jessica.

But who cared?

She swore to herself, 'Sooner or later, I'll be the one sharing a bed with James, not sleeping on this cold floor!'

When James got back, Pearl wasted no time whining about Olivia.

To her shock, James coldly replied, "Olivia's been here forever. You'll need her to show you the ropes while you're living here."

Pearl, trying to play nice, said, "You're right, Mr. Kelly. I'll make sure to learn from her."

Olivia checked the clock and asked, "Mr. Kelly, should we start dinner now? Mrs. Kelly isn't back yet."

James, brushing off any concern for Jessica, said, "No need to wait for her."

Pearl smirked, thinking, 'What future does Olivia have, sticking up for such a useless mistress?'

Olivia had no choice but to set the table, muttering under her breath, "Mrs. Kelly barely ate breakfast. Is she gonna be okay going all day without food?"

Just then, Jessica walked in.

Olivia rushed over, smiling. "Mrs. Kelly, perfect timing. We're about to have dinner. I made a bunch of your favorites!"

Jessica, carrying a bag of instant noodles, smiled slightly and said, "Thanks, Olivia. I've already eaten."

She headed upstairs without even glancing at the dining room.

Once in her room, she started making the instant noodles.

She hadn't eaten all day, and now the noodles seemed like a feast.

Locking the door, she began to eat.

But the more she ate, the more bitter she felt.

How long could she keep living like this without wanting to spend his money or owe him anything anymore?

Seeing him bring Pearl home today made her not even want to come back.

She had friends who could take her in, but she knew James too well.

If she didn't come home tonight, he'd cut off all her escape routes.

She didn't want to drag anyone else into this mess, nor did she want to bow down to him and Pearl.

So, she'd live frugally and find a part-time job to save up for a place of her own.

That way, she wouldn't have to see his face or watch him cozy up to Pearl.

As she thought about it, the instant noodles tasted like a gourmet meal.

Soon, she'd be free!
