Chapter 566 James, Do You Want to Come Home with Me? (4)

"But what did you actually do?"

"Jessica, please, let me explain."

James was frantic. He walked over, took her hand, and said, "This time it was an emergency, a life-or-death situation."

Jessica yanked her hand away, her eyes welling up with tears, her voice shaking, "When isn't it a life-or-death situation with her? And what about me? If I hadn't found out, how long were you planning to lie to me? How long were you going to keep deceiving me?"

James grabbed her hand again and said, "Come on, let's go home and talk. Trust me, I never meant to deceive you."

Rose watched them from the side, feeling a surge of excitement.

This is exactly how it should be!

If she couldn't be happy, why should Jessica get to be?

If she couldn't have something, she wouldn't let Jessica have it either!

So, she walked over, pretending to meditate, and said, "Jessica, you really misunderstood. It's exactly as James said."

But as she reached out to touch Jessica, Jessica recoiled, "Don't touch me! Filthy!"

Rose fell to the ground, clutching her stomach, "It hurts."

James immediately knelt, helping her up, and asked anxiously, "Are you okay?"

"I think my wound reopened."

Rose sat on the floor, leaning into his arms, "Don't blame Jessica. It was my fault. You don't need to worry about me. Go back and explain things to her. I'll find a doctor myself."

Jessica couldn't help but laugh, though her tears flowed even more freely.

She nodded, mocking, "Someone who can be so cruel to themselves, I truly can't compete with."

Even so, James still picked Rose up and placed her on the bed.

Rose clung to James' neck, giving Jessica a sly, challenging smile.

Holding onto her last shred of hope, Jessica said slowly and clearly, "James, are you coming home with me now? If you stay here, we're done."

James looked at her in disbelief. This woman always had to bring up breaking up and leaving.

He said in a low voice, "Jessica, stop using breaking up to threaten me. In this situation, how can I go back with you?"

Jessica smiled coldly, "Fine, then stay here."

As she turned to leave, her face was already wet with tears.

In truth, she had never used breaking up to threaten him.

Whenever she mentioned breaking up, it was because she was at her breaking point, her heart crushed under the weight.

But he never understood.

He even thought she was just being unreasonable.

Jessica stumbled out of the hospital. As soon as she got into her car, a sharp pain twisted in her stomach.

She clutched her abdomen, a bad feeling rising within her.

On such a cold day, running out like this, and getting so worked up in Rose's room, she had completely forgotten about the baby inside her.

Jessica felt a wave of guilt. She clutched her stomach and struggled to pull out her phone.

But as she scrolled through her contacts, she realized she had no one to call.

Her family and everyone who loved her had all left her, one by one.

Who could she turn to now?
