Chapter 230 They're An Accident

Jessica proudly said, "I spent the whole weekend knitting a scarf. It's halfway done. In a few days, I can give it to him."

Kylie looked at her sympathetically and said, "Don't be too nice to men. It'll just lead to heartbreak."

Jessica laughed it off. Her phone buzzed with a message from James asking why she wasn't coming home that night. With a sigh, she told him she was on night shift until noon the next day.

James didn't reply. Frustrated, Jessica turned to Kylie. "Can you believe this guy? It's my first night shift, and he doesn't even say anything supportive."

Kylie rolled her eyes, thinking, 'James is probably busy with his mistress. Why would he care about you?'

After leaving the hospital, James had the driver take Rose home but didn't go with her. He didn't say anything either.

Rose waited anxiously at home for his response, feeling nervous all day. Did James have no feelings for her? She used to think he'd be thrilled to know she was carrying his child.

As evening came, James finally showed up, looking serious.

"James," Rose said softly, touching her belly, "Our baby is healthy. Do you want to feel it?"

James didn't respond. He sat on the sofa and said calmly, "Rose, we're done. This baby came at the wrong time. They're an accident. You understand?"

Rose's eyes filled with tears. "What do you mean? You don't want them? This is our child. How can you not want them?"

James, feeling bad, explained, "If they're born, they'll be an illegitimate child. As grown-ups, shouldn't we take responsibility for the child?"

"Then be responsible! Is abandoning them being responsible?" Rose cried, half-kneeling in front of him. "James, please don't be so cruel."

James felt bad hearing her plea. He pulled Rose up and said, "Calm down. We can't talk or solve this if you're like this."

"How can I calm down?" Rose said, tears streaming. "This baby has been with me for ten weeks. I feel our bond every day. I'm not the type to shamelessly cling. If it weren't for the baby, I wouldn't be bothering you."

James was silent for a while before saying, "Even if you have this child, they'll be illegitimate. Can you handle that pressure?"

Rose clenched her fingers. She never thought that even with a child, James wouldn't make her Mrs. Kelly. Instead, he wanted her to be his mistress, and the child would be illegitimate.

James sighed, "Rose, our time is over. I've already hurt you, and I can't hurt Jessica too. Do you understand?"

"Fine, I see."

Rose stood up, stepped away, and declared, "You can go. I'll have this child and raise them myself."
