Chapter 385 No Longer Qualified to Sacrifice for Him (3)

Rose spoke each word deliberately, "Miss Evans, have you gone back to James again?"

Jessica paused for a moment and said, "Yes, Grandpa is sick. We have to act like we're in love to keep it from him. Didn't James tell you about this?"

"Of course, he did."

Rose sighed, pretending to be distressed, and said, "He's been troubled by this lately! He doesn't love you anymore, yet he has to pretend to be your husband. Miss Evans, you must be enjoying this, right? Maybe you can only enjoy being James's wife while Grandpa is still alive."

Rose made her sound both humble and pitiful.

Jessica spoke each word deliberately, "Not everyone is as ignorant and shallow as you. Besides, my business with James has nothing to do with you. Now, I've been divorced from him for so long. Can't you still get the title of Mrs. Kelly?"

Rose's face changed abruptly.

She didn't expect Jessica to mock her!

Rose sneered, squinting her eyes, and said, "Miss Evans, I always thought you were an honest person. Back then, to get me to release your father, what did you promise me? Are you really that despicable? Or have you forgotten the past and aren't afraid your father will go back in again?"

Jessica's eyes suddenly turned cold.

It would have been better if Rose hadn't mentioned this, Jessica said, "You know very well whether that car accident was caused by my father."

She scrutinized Rose, clearly seeing several moments of guilt on Rose's face.

Rose forced herself to say, "What? Are you planning to burn bridges just after your father got out? Fine, let's not talk about your father today, let's talk about you! Weren't you the one who despised women who destroyed other people's families the most? Didn't you hate me the most?"

Jessica looked at her inexplicably and said coldly, "I still hate you."

"But now, you're slowly becoming like me."

Rose's eyes were filled with a devilish gloom as she pressed on. "Don't forget, you have already divorced from James. And I, I'm carrying James's first child. If you still cling to him now, how are you any different from me?"

Jessica was deeply shaken by Rose's words.

She felt her face flush with embarrassment because she was truly humiliated.

Yes, she used to hate the woman who destroyed her family so much, but now, wasn't she doing the same thing?

Jessica looked at Rose's hateful face , a cold wave washed over her heart.

No, she couldn't become someone like Rose.

After talking with Rose, Jessica quietly returned to her office.

She sat in her chair, feeling inexplicably agitated.

She suddenly realized, without her noticing, her position and Rose's had completely reversed .

Rose was carrying James's child, and she almost became the third party.

She was no longer the righteous Mrs. Kelly she once was; she was just James's ex-wife.

At that moment, Nathan hurried into the office and said, "Jessica, I was supposed to be on duty the day after tomorrow, but something came up, so my shift has been moved to tomorrow."
