Chapter 127 Miscarriage (2)

She immediately felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, and her skirt got soaked with blood.

Clutching her abdomen, she gasped for breath.

Joan heard her cries and rushed over, stunned by the sight.

"Oh my God, Pearl, what happened?" Joan asked, her voice trembling.

She was so scared and didn't know what to do. She wanted to help Pearl up but saw all the blood on the ground.

Barely able to speak, Pearl insisted, "Don't call anyone. Get a private hospital. Keep it quiet."

Joan nodded quickly. "Okay, I won't say anything. Your dad just left angry, and no one else is home."

Soon, Pearl was rushed to a private gynecology hospital, with only Joan by her side.

In the operating room, the doctor performed an abortion on Pearl.

Joan was in hysterics, tears streaming down her face. She felt a pang of pity for Pearl, but the real heartbreak was for the coveted position of being Jack Kelly's wife, which Pearl had fought so hard for, was now slipping through her fingers!

If the baby was lost, the Kelly family would never let Pearl marry Jack.

Meanwhile, John didn't know about Pearl's miscarriage and called Jessica home to find out.

"Jessica, sorry to bother you again. Pearl went to the Kelly family. Did she give you a hard time?" John asked, worried.

Jessica shrugged, her voice dripping with indifference, "Hasn't she always been like that? Honestly, I never got along with her anyway. But don't worry, I won't let her push me around."

John asked cautiously, "What's the Kelly family's attitude? Pearl said Mr. Gerald Kelly finalized the marriage, but I'm worried!"

Jessica looked confused. "What are you worried about?"

John said, deeply concerned, "I know you haven't had a good time with the Kelly family these past two years. Pearl can be a handful, but she's still my daughter. I don't want either of you to endure unnecessary pain. If the Kelly family is only marrying her because of the baby, what kind of future does she really have?"

Jessica replied calmly, "Dad, she made her choices. You've warned her. Whether she listens is up to her. With her personality, she'll do what she wants."

John sighed deeply, regret evident in his eyes, "Why did I get involved with a woman like Joan? I've let your mother and you down. Now, being stuck with a wife like Joan and a daughter like Pearl must be my karma."

Jessica felt a bit sorry for him. She gently patted his hand and comforted, "Dad, don't be so hard on yourself. I used to blame you too, but Joan is incredibly manipulative. If she set her sights on trapping you, not many would have been able to escape her clutches?"

John felt relieved by Jessica's understanding. He smiled and asked, "By the way, your birthday is coming up. How do you want to celebrate?"

Jessica suddenly remembered the pink diamond necklace James had bought for her. He should be the one to celebrate with her, right?

John then asked seriously, "Tell me the truth, has no one celebrated your birthday in previous years?"

"No, James celebrated it for me. He does it every year," Jessica lied, forcing a smile.
