Chapter 41 Apology Letter

James's signature spot was always blank.

She couldn't tell if she felt relieved or disappointed.

Relieved he was still her husband.

Disappointed she hadn't met Rose's demands, and Lily was still locked up.

She couldn't be so selfish!

In the morning, Olivia returned to the villa.

Jessica didn't expect Olivia back today.

So much had happened recently, and she hadn't called Olivia.

Olivia smiled, "Mr. Kelly asked me to come back and take care of you. He still cares and says you can't manage alone."

Jessica forced a smile but didn't feel happy.

What she needed wasn't Olivia but him.

But he was with Rose.

"Mrs. Kelly, what would you like to eat? I'll cook for you."

Olivia opened the fridge, finding it empty.

"I'll go buy some groceries and be back soon. The same dishes you used to love, okay?"

"Okay, thank you, Olivia." Jessica smiled faintly.

After Olivia left, Jessica returned to the computer in the study.

She called many law firms based on the information she found.

Their answers were almost the same: if they went to court, Lily had no chance of winning.

Lily had acted violently and caused minor injuries to Rose.

Jessica was frustrated. Was there no other way except for Rose to drop the charges?

She couldn't divorce James, so she had to appease Rose another way.

She opened a Word document, wrote a few words, then deleted them.

After repeating this many times, she finally wrote an insincere apology letter.

In this apology letter, she admitted to mistakes in the rescue process that led to Rose's grandmother's death.

Writing this letter didn't make her feel any lighter than writing the divorce agreement.

She knew what it meant.

Once sent, she could never be a doctor again and would be condemned by society. Her life would be ruined.

But if she didn't send it?

Lily's life would be stained with a criminal record.

Finally, Jessica made up her mind, opened Instagram, and prepared to post the self-incriminating letter.

Just as she was about to press 'send,' her father, John, called.

Jessica answered listlessly, "Hello, Dad, what's up?"

John's voice trembled with excitement. "Jessica! Professor Howard has been a great help! I've been trying to suppress those rumors for so long. But Professor Howard stepped in to clear your name."

Jessica didn't quite understand, "Professor Howard? Nathan Howard, the youngest cardiothoracic professor at Ocean City University?"

"Yes," John said with a smile, "This matter is finally resolved, and I can finally be at ease."

Jessica immediately opened Instagram.

Sure enough, a video titled "Contemporary College Student Framed for Heroic Act" was trending.

She opened it and saw the video of her rescuing Rose's grandmother.
