"Until you come up with this new drug, I'll keep getting the meds Susan's giving her patients. When the time comes, you know what to say to my husband, right?"
"Absolutely."
Wolf grinned knowingly. "Mrs. Kelly, don't worry. Our partnership is rock solid. I'll crack the formula of Susan's drug ASAP. Then you won't have to jump through hoops to get it."
He seemed genuine, but his real aim was to uncover the drug's formula and outpace Susan to market, maximizing his profit.
He'd been in cardiology for twenty years. Why should Susan, a newbie, create such a revolutionary drug and steal the spotlight?
He wouldn't let that happen. His expertise in cardiology wouldn't be eclipsed by someone like Susan.
With that, Rose led Wolf to meet James.
James quickly noticed that Wolf was quite articulate. Despite a slight accent, he communicated effortlessly.
Wolf explained with a smile, "I studied in Dragonrise for three years a while back. The medical knowledge there is vast and profound, and I'm really into it. For your child's treatment, I've incorporated some of these methods, which might be more effective."
Seeing how well Wolf spoke the language and how everything matched Sean's investigation, James's impression of Wolf improved significantly.
He nodded in satisfaction. "I didn't expect you to know so much about our medical practices. We'll trust Isaac to you. Please take good care of him."
"Of course, Mr. Kelly. Rest assured, as a doctor, I won't give up on any patient."
Wolf's firm words increased James's trust in him.
Since James had more work to do, Rose took Wolf away early.
Outside the Kelly Corporation building, Wolf wore a determined expression.
He smiled slightly, opened the car door for Rose like a gentleman, and said, "Mrs. Kelly, don't worry. I'm only after fame and recognition, not money. So, the shares Mr. Kelly promised me will be transferred to you. But you must keep getting Susan's drug for me. I need a lot of samples to study and figure out all its components."
Thinking about the shares of the Kelly Corporation, Rose knew her status and wealth would reach new heights.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she assured Wolf, "We're a perfect match. I can give you the fame you need. And once Isaac uses Susan's drug and recovers, I'll announce to the public that you cured him. You'll get all the recognition you want."
"That sounds perfect."
Wolf's face showed a hint of curiosity. "But there's one thing I need to ask. How did you manage to get so much of Susan's drug? These medications are strictly controlled, especially those used in clinical trials. How did you get so much without her noticing?"
Rose's eyes flashed with a hint of malice. "That's my business. I have my ways."
She didn't want to elaborate, and Wolf didn't press further.
After all, he only cared about the new drug. The source didn't concern him.
