Chapter 553 Long-Lost Sister (3)
In no time, the club's security guards had all mobilized, treating Jessica like a criminal and restraining her.
"Let go of me! It's not what you think! This guy tried to assault me!" Jessica struggled and shouted, "I was defending myself!"
The club manager rushed over, taking in the chaotic scene, and immediately recalled Rose's previous instructions. But he hadn't expected Jessica to knock Doyle out cold.
He was furious. "You crazy woman! How dare you cause trouble at the Skyline Club! Just wait, if someone dies, you won't be leaving here alive!"
As he cursed, he ordered the guards to take Jessica away and lock her up. With Rose in labor, he had no way to get clear instructions and didn't know what to do with Jessica next.
Jessica screamed at the top of her lungs, "This is illegal detention! Call the police! Or at least call my husband!"
The manager spat, "Save your breath!"
But Jessica knew she couldn't let them take her away. Judging by the manager's attitude, he was likely in cahoots with Pearl.
She struggled fiercely, shouting, "Let go of me! Let go! Help!"
Just then, the sound of leather shoes approached from a distance.
"Stop!"
Ambrose had appeared before them, his dark gaze falling on Jessica before turning to the manager. "What's going on here?"
"Mr. Mellon, it's nothing serious. No need to trouble yourself," the manager quickly said, recalling Rose's instructions to keep Ambrose out of it. "Just a troublemaker causing a scene. I'll handle it."
Before he could finish, Ambrose kicked him hard, sending him to the ground with a cry of pain.
Ambrose's voice was cold and menacing. "Have you forgotten who your boss is? How dare you lie to me!"
Terrified, the manager scrambled to his feet. "Mr. Mellon, please, I have my reasons!"
Ignoring him, Ambrose's intense gaze fell on the trembling Jessica. When he noticed her disheveled state, his pupils contracted sharply.
He walked over slowly, his cool, slender fingers touching the red birthmark on the back of her neck. Shaped like a heart, it was faint but unmistakable to him.
This was the person he had been searching for.
Jessica was terrified, watching him warily. "What do you want?"
Was this the boss planning to silence her? Or was he another pervert wanting to assault her?
Just as she thought she was doomed, Ambrose ordered the guards, "Let her go."
Once released, Jessica quickly backed away, like a frightened deer, watching him in fear.
The manager hurried to Ambrose's side, whispering, "Mr. Mellon, this is Jessica. Rose... How are we going to explain this to Rose if you just let her go?"
Ambrose suddenly realized that this woman was Jessica. He understood the situation completely. Rose, even while in labor, was still plotting to ruin Jessica. It was all because of her grudge against James.
Ambrose snorted coldly and ordered the manager, "Let her go!"
