Chapter 264 A Friend Request

Jessica was feeling pretty dumb for crawling back to him and letting him boss her around.

At the hospital entrance, she heard a chirpy voice.

"Jessica, what a small world! You just got here too?" Cynthia hustled over, checked her watch, and said, "We've got like five minutes before we're late."

Jessica gave a polite nod. "Hello, Ms. Wells."

They stepped into the elevator, and Cynthia asked, "I saw you alone at the entrance. Your brother didn't drop you off?"

Jessica knew Cynthia had a thing for James.

Ever since James swung by once, Cynthia had been super nice to her and always brought him up.

Normally, Jessica wouldn't spill anything about her husband. But thinking about how James treated her and kept Rose around, she got pissed.

So, she grinned and said, "Ms. Wells, you seem really into my brother."

Cynthia blushed a bit and said softly, "Well, your brother's got it all. At my age, it's tough finding a guy who's a good match. But I think your brother and I would hit it off."

Jessica smiled. "Then I'll give you my brother's Facebook. You can hit him up directly. I'd love to have a sister-in-law like you, Ms. Wells!"

"Really?" Cynthia squealed, thinking Jessica finally got it.

So, Jessica sent James's Facebook to Cynthia.

James's Facebook profile was just his name, which made Cynthia scratch her head. She asked, "Huh? Why is your brother's last name Kelly? Shouldn't it be 'Evans'?"

Jessica coolly replied, "Oh, he's my cousin."

They got to their department, and Jessica immediately got busy.

Cynthia thought the name 'James Kelly' sounded super familiar, like she'd heard it somewhere before. With high hopes, she searched online and, surprise, found him.

Seeing James's killer resume and intro, Cynthia was so pumped she almost passed out. She also felt relieved. Good thing she hadn't been too mean to Jessica, or she'd be in deep trouble.

Cynthia's hands shook with excitement. She decided to stay tight with Jessica and get her help. Otherwise, how could she ever snag a guy like that?

At Kelly Corporation, James was swamped at his desk when his Facebook pinged.

He opened it and saw a friend request. The note said, "Jessica's mentor, Cynthia."

James frowned, thought for a sec, and remembered Cynthia had given Jessica a hard time before.

'Could Jessica be having more trouble during her internship?' Thinking that, he accepted the friend request.

Cynthia was thrilled when he accepted and quickly sent a smiley face emoji.

Soon, James replied.

James: [Did something happen to Jessica?]
