Chapter 111 A Mistress Relying on A Man
Jessica grinned, "Do you think we can afford such a rare treasure like the Pink Heart? There are probably many wealthy people lining up to get their hands on it!"
"I'll just take a look," Lily said with a mischievous grin. " I can still indulge in some of Karen's other creations. If I can't afford the pricey stuff, there has to be something within my budget, right?"
Jessica rolled her eyes and teased, "You always have so many excuses when it comes to spending money."
Despite this, she decided to join Lily for a shopping trip. It had been a while since she last visited a mall.
Golden Plaza, the largest financial district in Ocean City, was packed with luxury brands.
As soon as Lily arrived, she headed straight for Karen's luxury store. She was eager to see the 'Pink Heart,' but the clerk said, "Sorry, Miss Stewart, the Pink Heart bracelet has already been reserved, and the necklace has been sent to a charity gala and will be auctioned off in a few days."
Lily was a bit disappointed but asked, "Do you have any new arrivals?"
"How about this sapphire collarbone necklace? The teardrop-shaped sapphire not only enhances your face shape but also perfectly matches your skin tone," the clerk said, placing it around Lily's neck.
Lily thought sapphires were tacky, but now, seeing how the necklace made her skin look fairer and her face more defined, she was starting to change her mind.
Lily looked absolutely satisfied with the necklace, which sparkled brilliantly around her neck. She turned to Jessica, "How do I look?"
Jessica, not knowing much about jewelry, said, "It looks good."
Lily asked, "How much is this?"
The clerk smiled, "$100,000. Karen's works are never cheap."
Jessica pouted, clearly taken aback by the price of such a delicate little necklace. She gave Lily a look, trying to say it wasn't worth it.
But Lily liked it and asked, "Can it be any cheaper?"
"Miss Stewart, I'm sorry. You're one of our regulars. We don't offer any discounts," the clerk replied.
Just as Lily was hesitating, a voice came from afar.
"I'll take that necklace!" Rose strutted into the store, flaunting a rare leather bag, looking arrogant. She didn't bother glancing at anyone.
Jessica and Lily exchanged surprised looks. Clearly, they hadn't anticipated running into Rose at the store.
The clerk picked up the necklace Lily had just tried on and, with a hint of hesitation, addressed Rose, "Miss Morris, are you interested in this necklace as well? Just a reminder, this is a limited edition; and this is the only piece available."
Rose sneered at Lily, "Can she even afford it? Hesitating over a few tens of thousands of dollars—it's clear she's never seen real wealth! If you can't afford it, don't come here."
Lily got angry and retorted, "A mistress relying on a man. Without him, who knows where you'd be!"
Rose's face changed, and even the clerk was stunned.
Rose felt humiliated. And in a sudden fit of rage, she pointed an accusatory finger at Lily, snapped, "Stop talking nonsense! Watch your mouth, or I'll sue you for defamation. If it weren't for me letting you off last time, you'd still be a criminal with an assault record!"
