Chapter 589 James and Jessica Will Meet Soon (1)

Jessica stopped in her tracks, turned around, and curled her lips into a cold smile as she looked Rose up and down. "Did you do a thorough investigation?" she mocked.

She even knew what Jessica used to be called.

Rose's face twisted with anger. "So you finally admit it, huh? You are Jessica, aren't you? Why did you change your name to Susan and come back to Ocean City? Are you trying to steal James from me again? Let me tell you, I'm living in The Kelly Villa with Isaac now, and we're so happy together! You don't stand a chance anymore!"

Jessica looked at her, bewildered. "What are you talking about? Who do you think I'm trying to steal?"

Rose was taken aback. Something about Jessica seemed different.

Sure, she was sharper and more capable now, but why did it seem like she didn't recognize Rose at all?

Rose scoffed and demanded, "What? Are you saying you didn't come back to get revenge on me and take James away?"

"Are you out of your mind?" Jessica laughed. "I don't even know you. Why would I want to take James from you? And let me be clear, I'm not going to treat your child. Nothing you say will change that."

Rose was left confused by Jessica's reaction. She stared at her suspiciously but couldn't figure anything out.

Was Jessica pretending not to know her?

Or was there some other scheme at play?

Rose probed, "You really don't know who I am? Jessica, what are you up to?"

Jessica sneered, "Do you think you're some kind of celebrity that everyone should know? Just because you found out my name doesn't mean I owe you anything. Don't expect any special treatment from me."

Rose finally realized that Jessica genuinely seemed to have no memory of her.

In the past, Jessica's eyes were always filled with hatred when she looked at her.

But now?

There was only a cold indifference, no trace of that intense loathing.

Could it be that Jessica had lost her memory?

This realization made Rose's heart race. She didn't know if this was good news or bad news.

To Jessica, Rose was just a wealthy troublemaker, not worth her time.

So, she turned and walked away.

Rose clutched her chest, taking deep breaths to accept this new reality.

Even though Jessica had returned, and in this new role, it seemed she had amnesia.

At least she wasn't here to take James away.

As long as she kept Jessica and James apart, her fears wouldn't come true.

At The Kelly Villa.

That evening, as soon as James got home, he asked, "So, what did the specialist say? Is there any hope for Isaac's condition?"

"Don't even mention it. She's a total quack," Rose said, sounding aggrieved. "Not only did she refuse to treat us, but she also insulted us."

James frowned. "How could that be? Susan is supposed to be an expert. Her professionalism shouldn't be that bad."

Rose quickly added, "It's because she has a limit of fifty patients a day. We were the fifty-first, and she had to work a few extra minutes, so she wasn't happy about it."
