Chapter 394 Taking Her as a Student (4)
But Nathan had already promised her that as long as she applied, she would be admitted.
This was practically a golden ticket!
With such a promise, Jessica was highly motivated. After her night shift, she didn't go back to rest but instead took her books and review materials to the study room.
She thought, her life wasn't just about James; she had dreams and a career to pursue.
Moreover, only by reading could she find peace of mind.
For several days, she immersed herself in her studies, forcing herself not to think about those sad things.
During these days, she hadn't seen James.
Gerald said that James was on a business trip.
Jessica didn't know if he was really on a business trip or just avoiding her, or perhaps he didn't want to see her.
These past few days, Rose had been overjoyed.
James was with her every day, and her prenatal checkups were all going smoothly. The only thing that made her uneasy was Jessica's presence.
Don't forget, that Jessica was still trying to make her presence known in front of Gerald.
As long as she was around, James's heart could never be fully with Rose.
So, while James was at work, Rose had the nurse take her for a walk around the neighborhood.
When they passed a pavilion, she instructed, "Let's stop here. You go wait over there. I'm meeting an old friend."
Before long, Linda arrived.
Suspiciously, she looked at Rose and said, "You asked me to come? Who are you? How do you know my number?"
Rose smiled and said, "I not only know your number, but I also know that your son was suppressed by James and sent to Bangkok."
Linda felt utterly humiliated and demanded, "Explain yourself. What exactly do you want?"
Rose then introduced herself, "My name is Rose. I'm James's first love. Now, I'm carrying his child."
Linda was shocked and asked incredulously, "You say you're carrying James's child? But what does that have to do with me?"
A calculating look flashed in Rose's eyes as she said, "Of course, it has something to do with you because I know many things that you don't."
"What do you know? Go ahead, tell me!"
Linda said dismissively, "I want to see if you know something I don't."
Rose calmly said, "Do you know that Gerald is seriously ill and hospitalized? He probably doesn't have many days left."
"What?"
Linda was shocked and immediately asked, "When did this happen?"
Ever since Jack was sent to Bangkok by James, she had lost all hope and hadn't even visited Gerald.
After all, that damned Gerald only had eyes for James and didn't leave anything for Jack. Why should she lower herself to take care of Gerald?
But she hadn't expected that in the time she hadn't visited, such a big thing had happened in The Kelly Family.
Gerald was critically ill, and she didn't know a thing about it. The Kelly Corporation was still calm and quiet.
The only possibility was that Gerald and James had completely sealed off the news, fearing internal strife within the Kelly Corporation.
Linda was anxious and urged, "I'm asking you! Tell me! When did this happen?"
