Chapter 72 Kiss Her
It felt like a punishment for her. Jessica's lips were numb and aching.
She let out a small whimper in protest.
Only then did James reluctantly let her go.
His thumb brushed against her swollen lips, and he said in a husky voice, "Pay attention in class. I'll pick you up tonight."
Jessica's long eyelashes fluttered, and the blush on her cheeks was hard to miss.
James was driving her crazy!
She couldn't handle him at all.
She got out of the car like she was escaping and hurried into the school.
At the school gate, Kylie called out to her. "Jessica."
Jessica was a bit surprised, asking, "Are you back?"
Kylie said gratefully, "Yeah, early this morning, the lab administrator called me to come back and do the experiment. Thank you. I thought you were just brushing me off when you agreed. I didn't expect you to actually do it."
Jessica didn't expect that after James agreed to her request, he would act on it immediately.
He really took her words seriously.
Kylie finally returned to school and no longer had to worry about graduation. Her previous sadness was gone.
She linked arms with Jessica and walked toward the classroom together.
On the way, she curiously asked, "Is that guy really your boyfriend? I just saw you get out of his car, a Bentley!"
Jessica hesitated, not knowing what to say.
Kylie thought she was being cautious and said, "Don't worry, I won't betray you. After all, you didn't hold a grudge against me this time, and I won't do anything to wrong you in the future. I'm just curious: what does your boyfriend do? He's so rich and capable. He can even handle things in our lab?"
Jessica calmly said, "He's just a businessman. A parvenu, that's all."
She wondered if James would be furious if he knew she described him this way!
Kylie, like a fan, exclaimed, "Oh my God, he really is your boyfriend. He doesn't look like an overnight millionaire at all! I saw him in the lab at that time. He's really handsome and looks very noble. Oh, I remember. He looks a bit like the guy who gave you the award yesterday. What's his name again?"
"Oh, stop guessing. He's an ordinary businessman, but at most, he's just a bit rich." Jessica interrupted.
She didn't want to expose her awkward relationship with James.
After all, they might get divorced at any time.
By then, everyone would know she was James's ex-wife.
Kylie said, "I'm really envious of you. Your family is already well-off, and your boyfriend is rich and handsome, treats you well, and spoils you."
"You'll find someone too," Jessica said with a smile.
Suddenly, she felt that Kylie was actually a bit cute without the face of a rival.
In the afternoon, after class, Jessica was about to pack up and go home.
But Kylie pulled her and said excitedly, "Jessica, there's a game on the field today; let's go watch. I heard it's our school's basketball team, and those guys are really handsome."
Jessica declined, "Why don't you go by yourself? I want to go home first."
Ever since Jessica met James, she seemed to have developed a resistance to all men.
Anyway, no one could be more handsome than James.
