Jessica shot back, "There's nothing to explain. I just don't want to owe you anymore. I can handle myself. Do I really need to spell out what you've done? I'm not deaf or blind. You and my sister are in our room every night, making all that noise. I hear everything! And you still want me to explain? Are you trying to push me over the edge?"
James's face turned a bit red, looking embarrassed.
These were just his tricks to mess with her, pressure her, and make her jealous enough to give in.
But instead of getting what he wanted, he just ended up pissing himself off.
After a moment of silence, James said, "What if I send Pearl away now? Will you be good and stay with me ?"
"James, you're always like this," Jessica replied.
She smirked and said, "You're always so full of yourself, thinking the world revolves around you. You hurt me, then come to comfort me, expecting me to be grateful? When will you ever think about someone else?"
Feeling down, James said, "Haven't I considered you enough? I've done so many things I wouldn't have done before for you. How am I being self-centered?"
Jessica shot back, "Take Leo, for example. What did he do to deserve all the crap you put him through? He's been suspended, and his future is almost ruined!"
"Don't mention that guy again!" James growled. "Do you care about him that much? Is that why you're so pissed at me? Is that why you've been trying to get under my skin?"
To make him give up on her, Jessica nodded and said, "Why shouldn't I care about him? The more you target him, the more I dislike you!"
James laughed angrily, gritting his teeth. "Fine, then hate me! No matter how much you hate me, you're still mine. I'll never let you go!"
He stormed out of her room and headed straight to the study.
Since Jessica cared so much about Leo, he would make sure she saw how easily he could control Leo.
Pulling out his phone, he called Sean.
James asked in a low, cold tone, "Is Leo still at Ocean City University?"
Sean replied honestly, "The school hasn't reinstated his classes yet. He's still suspended and banned from entering the campus."
James's eyes were deep in thought. After a long pause, he said, "Doesn't Ocean City University have ten spots each year for studying abroad? Give him one. I'll cover the costs."
"What? This..." Sean stammered, shocked.
Sean had assumed that competing with James for a woman would have dire consequences.
But to his surprise, James decided to fund Leo's study abroad.
He quickly said, "If Leo hears this news, he'll be over the moon. His family isn't well-off, and without financial support, he wouldn't have this chance."
"Go handle it!" James ordered indifferently and hung up the phone.
He sighed, replaying Jessica's words in his mind.
At that moment, he wanted her to see that Leo, a poor guy with no abilities, couldn't give her anything.
But in the end, he changed his mind and decided to send Leo abroad for further studies.
He didn't want Jessica to think he was heartless and cruel.
