Chapter 321 She Is Still His Darling (1)

Michael blurted out, "Chill out, man. Your wife begged me to keep quiet back then. Plus, you were hiding it from her, but I spilled the beans. If you knew that, you'd have cut me off!"

James clenched his jaw. "Well, now I know, and I'm cutting you off!"

He shot up from his seat.

After storming out of Michael's place, he headed straight to the hospital.

Rose didn't expect him to show up so late.

She was super touched. "James, did you miss me and the baby?"

Now that Jessica was out of the picture, he started to see Rose's worth.

But James walked up to her slowly, his face dark and menacing.

Rose got a bit nervous, forcing a shaky smile. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

James's voice was low. "Did Jessica come to see you?"

Rose's face changed. "When are you talking about?"

"That's for you to tell me. When did she come? What did you say to her?" James pressed, "Rose, don't lie to me. Don't deceive me again!"

Rose's heart skipped a beat.

Did Jessica snitch to James?

Jessica was such a snake, always plotting against her!

Rose's mind raced, but she kept her cool. "She didn't come to see me. I don't know what she told you, but it's not true. If she had come, I would've told you. Why would I hide it?"

She denied it flat out, not even flinching.

James nodded coldly. "You better be telling the truth. I'm out. Get some rest."

Rose tried to stop him, fishing for info. "James, what happened? We were fine yesterday. Why are you acting like this?"

James's response was icy. "It's nothing. But, Rose, just remember, whether I divorce Jessica or not, there's no chance for us. I let you keep this baby out of responsibility, that's it."

Rose's face fell, her heart felt like it was being stabbed.

What did that mean?

Even if Jessica wasn't around, he wouldn't marry her.

Rose felt a sharp pain in her heart and shook her head desperately. "James, that's not what you said before. You promised me a status, a home. And now we have a baby. How can you do this to me?"

But all she got was James's cold, resolute back.

That night, James didn't go home; he went to the office.

He needed to be alone and think.

Even though he knew the truth now, he didn't feel any better.

So, Jessica had been pushing his buttons all along, making him hate her on purpose to get him to agree to a divorce.

She thought that once they divorced, Rose would let John go.

Despite Rose's repeated denials of meeting Jessica, James remained skeptical.

If no one had pressured Jessica, or if Rose hadn't agreed to this deal, Jessica wouldn't have done so many things just to force him to divorce.

James's mood grew darker.

Did Jessica really care about their relationship?
