Chapter 302 Argument
Pearl hit up the servant for Jessica's work address.
Then, she grabbed the breakfast and headed out to find Jessica.
When she rolled up to the cardiology ward, Jessica looked at her, totally shocked. "What are you doing here?" Jessica questioned.
"Bringing you breakfast," Pearl said, stone-faced. "Jessica, living in the storage room must suck, huh? Being hungry and cold ain't fun either, right?"
Jessica wasn't about to show any weakness.
She shot Pearl a look and said, "If you're here to gloat, then just leave! Come back and brag when you become Mrs. Kelly!"
Pearl burst out laughing. "Mrs. Kelly? Nah, I don't want that anymore! I'm not as ambitious as you. As long as I got a spot by James' side, I'll live the high life and be worry-free forever."
"Well, congrats then. Hope James can really be your sugar daddy," Jessica said, ready to head back.
She still had a ton of stuff to do in the ward.
Pearl suddenly grabbed her, eyes burning with hate. "How dare you still act all high and mighty in front of me? You've been kicked to the storage room. Without James' favor, you're nothing!"
Pearl blamed Jessica for her own downfall into the Skyline Club.
But she didn't want to bring up her dirty past in front of Jessica, scared it would make Jessica look down on her even more.
So, she gritted her teeth and said, "Jessica, do you know I'm like this because of you? I wish I could rip your skin off and drink your blood!"
Jessica saw the pure hatred in her eyes and was genuinely freaked out. After all, they were sisters with the same dad.
She had no clue what she did to make Pearl hate her so much.
She shook off Pearl's hand and said, "Since we're sisters, I'll give you a heads-up, don't waste your time on James. You can't outplay him."
Then, she walked back, leaving Pearl standing there, feeling lost.
Pearl had come to humiliate Jessica.
But in the end, she felt like she was the one humiliated.
Not far off, Cynthia witnessed the whole scene with Jessica and Pearl, tugging and pulling at each other, appearing to be in a heated argument.
Curious, Cynthia walked over to Pearl and asked, "Hey, I'm Jessica's teacher. And you are...? Looks like you two had some beef."
Pearl snapped out of it and said, "Oh, you're Jessica's teacher! She's my sister. What's up?"
"Oh? She's your sister?" Cynthia's interest piqued. "So, you're also James' sister?"
Jessica had previously said she was James' cousin.
So, could Pearl in front of her be James' real sister?
Then Pearl would definitely carry more weight than Jessica. If Pearl could help her, maybe she had a shot with James.
Confused by Cynthia's words, Pearl asked, "Who did you say?"
Cynthia replied, "Uh, Jessica is Mr. Kelly's cousin, and you're her sister, so naturally, you're Mr. Kelly's sister too."
Pearl paused, then sneered and asked, "Is that what Jessica told you? She said she's James' sister?"
