Chapter 181 Stop Targeting the Stewart Family
Jessica felt lost. The world was huge, but she had nowhere to go.
Adam hesitated, then said, "If you stay one more day, my family is done for!"
Tears filled Jessica's eyes. "I know. I'll go home tonight. Sorry for the trouble."
Adam reminded her, "When you see Mr. Kelly, say something nice about me. Just one word from him can save my family. I have no other choice!"
"Okay," Jessica replied softly, feeling a deep sadness.
She never thought James would force her back like this, making her beg him.
On her way back to the villa, Jessica laughed bitterly. To James, she was probably just an ant, something to control and possess.
When she got back, Olivia greeted her warmly. "Mrs. Kelly, you're back." She whispered, "Mr. Kelly is in the living room. Dinner will be ready soon."
Jessica walked into the living room.
James was already there, in casual clothes, looking relaxed and reading a magazine.
Hearing her, James looked up, unsurprised. "You're back." He waved her over. "Come here."
To Jessica, it felt like he was calling a pet. She suppressed her humiliation and walked over, dreading every step.
James didn't mention the lawyer's letter or the divorce. Instead, he touched her cheek, "It's good to have you back," he said, sounding satisfied.
Jessica stepped back, turning away. "Now, can you leave the Stewart family alone? I'm back, so stop targeting them."
James snorted, his eyes cold. "They kept you for days. I couldn't see you. How can I not teach them a lesson?"
Desperation rose in Jessica. She knew his threat. "James, what do you want? I'm back. What do I have to do for you to leave them alone?"
His expression darkened. He stepped closer, whispering dangerously, "Jessica, I don't like your tone."
Jessica took a deep breath, holding back her sorrow. "I'm begging you, James. Please."
James wasn't pleased. He comforted her. "Let's eat first. We'll talk later."
Jessica was led to the dining table. Olivia had made many dishes, but she had no appetite.
James signaled Olivia to serve her.
Jessica resisted. "I don't want to eat. Please, help yourself."
She stood to leave.
James's voice turned cold. "Sit down and eat, or see if I'll let the Stewart family off."
Jessica stopped and sat back down. She knew James was testing her, making her submit. Sadness and pain filled her, making it hard to breathe.
