Chapter 153 He Will Clear Her Name

James was in a great mood, a playful smile on his lips. He couldn't help but look at Jessica's shy, innocent face, almost losing control again. But he managed to hold back.

Jessica avoided his gaze, letting him clean her up, her flushed face pressed against his chest.

James leaned down and whispered, "Jessica, you're so beautiful," his voice sending shivers down her spine.

He wrapped her in a white towel and carried her back to the bed like she weighed nothing, cradling her like she was the most precious thing in the world.

Jessica felt a wave of regret for clinging to him so shamelessly. She couldn't even look him in the eye. But James, propping himself up on both sides of her, locked eyes with her. "Jessica, I'm really happy with how you were today," he said sincerely.

Jessica knew what he meant, and her cheeks burned even hotter. She quickly pulled the blanket over her head. "Stop talking!" she demanded, her voice muffled.

James chuckled softly. "Okay, I won't say anything," he promised, smiling. He lay down beside her, pulling her into his arms. "Good night," he whispered gently.

After the earlier intimacy, Jessica gradually felt sleepy and fell asleep peacefully in his arms.

The next day, James went to the company early.

He had been abroad with Rose for her medical treatment and handling issues related to Jessica's family, causing a significant delay in his work. So, he needed to catch up on urgent matters.

Before he left, he turned to Jessica, still nestled in bed. "Rest well, okay? I'll come back as soon as I'm done," he assured her.

But Jessica had other plans. "I want to go to school," she insisted. "I'm feeling great now, and I need to attend my classes."

James gently stroked her hair. "Rest for a few more days. There's no rush!"

But Jessica's disappointment was clear. "Please, let me go!" she pleaded. "I need to distract myself. Otherwise, I can't stop thinking about all the troubles with my family. And my dad... he really won't forgive me."

Seeing her distress, James embrace her. "What do you think about your grandma's situation? Do you think I went so far?" he asked softly.

"I don't know." Jessica shook her head, conflicted. If it had been up to her, she probably wouldn't have taken such drastic measures.

But James had done it all for her. She couldn't ignore that.

Jessica hesitated, then asked, "How about you let my grandma go?" She didn't want John to hate her.

"We can't really make her bow and apologize to me. Not only would she refuse, but my dad wouldn't agree either."

"We can let her go, but only after they restore your innocence," James advised. "Jessica, being upset won't solve the problem. You have to prove it yourself. Think carefully. Is there any doubt about the Pearl incident?"

Something clicked in Jessica's mind. "Serenity Hospital! The place where Mary had the car accident was next to Serenity Hospital. And this time, Pearl's miscarriage also happened at Serenity Hospital."

James asked, "Do you suspect that Mary's car accident is related to Pearl's miscarriage?"

Jessica nodded. "Although this hospital is famous for obstetrics, it's far from my family's house. If Pearl's condition was critical, they should have taken her to the nearest hospital. Why go out of their way to Serenity Hospital?"

Jessica provided a breakthrough, and James didn't want her to be troubled anymore. "Trust me, I will clear your name and let your dad know you were wronged."

"Thank you," Jessica said gratefully.

She never thought that it would be James who would stay with her and help her in her most desperate moments.
