Chapter 100 Doesn't Mrs. Whitaker Miss Me?

Andrew walked into Vincent's office.

As the Senior Vice President of the group, Vincent's office was naturally at the top.

He waited for a while before seeing his father walk in with a sullen face, angrily slamming the office door shut.

"Dad, what's wrong? Was the visit to the Kingsley family unsuccessful?!" Andrew quickly asked.

"Nathaniel went too far. If he's heartless, he can't blame me for being ruthless!" Vincent said through gritted teeth.

"What exactly happened?" Andrew was very curious.

Vincent didn't want to talk about the humiliation he had suffered. He said impatiently, "Don't ask too many questions. I called you here to arrange for reporters immediately. I want to publicly denounce Dominic for deceiving and trampling on Isadora's feelings."

Andrew said, "Now? If we do this, we'll be completely at odds with the Kingsley family. It will be hard to cooperate with them in the future..."

"Cooperate? There will be no cooperation in this lifetime!" Vincent's face was extremely dark, and his temper was flaring. "Just do as I say; no more nonsense!"

Andrew didn't dare to say more and could only ask, "Should I arrange it for today?"

"Today... wait." Vincent suddenly paused, remembering what Juliana had told him today. He thought for a moment and said, "Tomorrow morning. Let's deal with Juliana's matter first today."

Andrew asked, "What matter?"

"You'll find out soon enough." Vincent didn't want to say more. Suddenly, he thought of something, "Be discreet about finding reporters. Don't let the Kingsley family catch wind of it. Also, call Isadora and tell her to stop crying and organize her thoughts. Think about what to say to the reporters tomorrow!"

"Okay." Andrew nodded.

"Leave now." Vincent waved his hand impatiently.

At this moment, he really wished he could tear the Kingsley family to pieces!

Sales Director's Office.

Cecilia sat at her spacious desk.

Everything was naturally tidied up, and the office was clean and orderly.

Cecilia turned on her computer. With nothing on her hands at the moment, she logged into the company's intranet to catch up on some company news.

She was quite engrossed when the phone suddenly rang. She glanced at the caller ID, her eyes flickering slightly, and she didn't even realize she was smiling a bit. She answered, "Hello."

"How's your first day at work?" Alaric asked directly.

"Pretty good." Cecilia naturally wouldn't tell Alaric about what happened early this morning.

Alaric asked, "So, you don't miss me?"

Cecilia asked back, "Do you need something?"

"Can't I call you if I don't need anything?"

"I'm at work," Cecilia said.

Alaric complained, "So work is more important than me."

"Yes!" Cecilia thought that he finally had some self-awareness.

Alaric was silent for a few seconds, obviously hurt by Cecilia's words.

Cecilia couldn't help but smile, feeling like she had won a round.

She always felt suppressed since she started cooperating with Alaric.

"Aren't you curious why I had to leave so early this morning?" Alaric changed the topic directly.

"Would you tell me if I were curious?" Cecilia asked.

Alaric replied, "How would you know if you don't ask?"

"Alright then, tell me, where did you go this morning? What did you do? Why didn't you say anything in advance?" Cecilia compromised.

"So, in what identity are you asking me?" Alaric was clearly teasing.

Cecilia rolled her eyes. She knew Alaric wasn't serious and could easily fall into his trap.

"Forget it, I don't care." Cecilia showed no interest.

"I won't be back for a few days." Alaric indeed wouldn't say.

Cecilia knew she was being played by Alaric!

"Suit yourself." Cecilia didn't care.

"Don't be mad. I'll make it up to you when I get back," Alaric said.

Cecilia replied, "I'm not mad, and I don't need your compensation."

"You're obviously soft." Alaric suddenly said in a surprised tone.

Cecilia wondered if Alaric was sleep-talking?!

Why did he suddenly said such a strange thing?

Alaric explained, "I mean, your lips are so soft, like marshmallows. How come the words that come out are so harsh?"

Cecilia was speechless for a moment. "Enough, I have things to do. I'm hanging up."

Before Alaric could say anything, Cecilia hung up directly.

On one hand, she really couldn't stand Alaric's sweet talk.

But she had to admit, Alaric seemed to genuinely care about her, even if in an unserious way.

Of course, she wouldn't be moved.

Who knew what Alaric was up to?

She could never figure him out!

On the other hand, someone suddenly knocked on her office door.

She responded, "Come in."

Jessica appeared respectfully in Cecilia's office.

At this moment, Jessica didn't dare to look up. After all, what happened today made her feel ashamed. She braced herself and said, "Mrs. Whitaker, someone is looking for you in the executive meeting room."

Cecilia frowned slightly.

Executive meeting?

Although her position was not low, she hadn't yet reached the level of the Lockhart Group's executives. Usually, those positions were held by shareholders or senior CEOs appointed by the group. So being called there now was obviously not a good sign.

She nodded calmly. "Okay."

Without hesitation, she went alone to the Lockhart Group's highest meeting office.

She knocked and entered. In the large and luxuriously decorated executive meeting room, a group of formally dressed business elites sat in unison.

Everyone looked at Cecilia as she walked in and respectfully said, "Mr. Lockhart, what can I do for you?"

Theodore nodded.  "It's your first day at work. Introduce yourself to everyone."

For the first time, Cecilia felt that Theodore had a strong presence in the workplace. At home, he was always gentle. Even when she went to his office earlier, he was kind and approachable.

At this moment, he exuded the demeanor of a chairman, which indeed put some pressure on her.

She took a deep breath and politely bowed to everyone. "My name is Cecilia Lockhart. Today is my first day at work, and I'm taking on the role of Sales Director. It's a pleasure to be working with you."

"Everyone wants to know why a 22-year-old girl deserves the position of Sales Director." A middle-aged man in his forties spoke up.

Cecilia glanced in his direction.

If she remembered correctly, he should be Charles Wolf, a board member of the Lockhart Group. He held twelve percent of the group's shares, making him the largest shareholder after her father, even more than Vincent. So naturally, he had a lot of influence.

His words were clearly meant to make things difficult for her.

She remembered clearly that Charles and Vincent had secret dealings. No one knew they were close. If it weren't for her family's downfall in her previous life, these two wouldn't have been exposed.

Cecilia smiled calmly. Since she chose to join the company, she was prepared for everything!
