Chapter 607 Genuine Feelings (2)

Back then, the person outside didn't respond to Cecilia, making it clear they weren't interested in helping.

Cecilia thought, 'How can people be so heartless?' She was about to head back in just her pants when, out of nowhere, a pack of sanitary pads slid under the bathroom door, delivered by a pair of long, clean hands. She felt like she'd been saved and quickly thanked her mysterious helper.

When she finished up and opened the door to thank them again, they were already gone.

Who could it have been?

Cecilia never forgot that moment, but she never imagined the person behind it was a guy.

What kind of guy would walk into the women's restroom? Thinking about it, Cecilia's eyes widened as she stared at Alaric. "It was you!"

Now that she thought about it, those fingers did look a lot like Alaric's.

Alaric nodded.

"Are you some kind of pervert?" Cecilia snapped.

Alaric's face twitched. "If it wasn't for me, would you have been able to leave the bathroom?"

"But that was the women's restroom!" Cecilia shot back.

"I went in because of you!" Alaric said, exasperated.

Cecilia calmed down a bit and asked, "How did you know I was on my period?"

"You were rehearsing for a school event. I was there too," Alaric explained.

Was that true?

Cecilia had no memory of it.

Alaric's expression showed he knew Cecilia had never noticed him growing up.

"After the rehearsal, I saw everyone leave except you, so I stuck around. You didn't notice me; I was backstage. That's when I saw the bloodstains on your pants and realized you had your period," Alaric said.

Cecilia felt embarrassed just thinking about it.

"I followed you, but you never noticed," Alaric continued.

Cecilia had been too focused on her pants to notice anything else.

"You went to the women's restroom, and I waited outside for a long time. Then I went in and made some noise on purpose. That's when I found out you didn't have any sanitary pads," Alaric said. "So I went to buy some for you."

"Did you get them at the school store?" Cecilia asked, mortified.

Alaric was only in 11th grade at the time.

"What else could I do?" Alaric replied.

The school was in the middle of nowhere, with only the school store around.

"Didn't the cashier laugh at you?" Cecilia asked, curious about Alaric's reaction.

"Her look was pretty weird," Alaric admitted.

Cecilia couldn't help but laugh.

She was touched by Alaric's gesture.

"Why do a good deed anonymously? Didn't you know I had a pretty bad impression of you back then?" Cecilia bit her lip.

"I know, you were all about Dominic," Alaric said, a hint of jealousy in his voice.

Cecilia pouted.

Back then, it was natural for her to like Dominic instead of Alaric, right? She never knew Alaric had feelings for her. In fact, she thought he didn't like her at all.

Back then, Alaric had a reputation for dating lots of girls and never turning down anyone who showed interest. Cecilia had seen him with other girls a few times and figured he never noticed her.

Seraphina, always curious about popular figures like Dominic and Alaric, once asked Cecilia, "Alaric's had so many girlfriends; why hasn't he ever liked you?"

Cecilia was taken aback. Where did Seraphina get these ideas?

Seraphina continued, "He's such a flirt, and you're so beautiful, yet he never went after you!"

Cecilia replied, "I'm engaged to Dominic; everyone knows that."

Seraphina said, "You might be giving Alaric too much credit. Just last week, he broke up a couple and started dating the girl. He doesn't seem to have any principles."

"Anyway, I'm not interested in him," Cecilia said, not wanting to discuss Alaric.

"Are you frustrated?" Seraphina teased.

Cecilia ignored her. She really hadn't thought much about Alaric back then.

Now, thinking about it, she felt a bit annoyed. "Alaric, you were always with so many girls but ignored me. Why?"

"Are you jealous?" Alaric laughed.

"Not jealous, but you flirted with every girl except me?" Cecilia shot back.

"Do you want me to seduce you?" Alaric teased.

"Can you be serious!" Cecilia said angrily.

"Because I couldn't bear to," Alaric said.

Cecilia's heart fluttered at his words.

"I knew you liked Dominic, and I knew I couldn't be with you. Why would I hurt you? Besides..." Alaric hesitated.

"What if you chose to ignore me? I have my pride too, and I wouldn't be able to take it."

"So if I don't make the first move, you'll never come to me?" Cecilia felt a surge of anger.

"Probably," Alaric answered honestly.

"But you knew Dominic wasn't a good person!" Cecilia said angrily.

Yet Alaric just stood by, watching her walk into danger.

The tragic memories of her past life resurfaced.

"I'm not a good person either," Alaric said. "Maybe I'm even more brutal than Dominic."

Cecilia looked at him.

"I can't promise that what I offer you will be better than what Dominic gives you, or that the life I provide will be more stable," Alaric said, his voice serious. "I'm more ruthless than you know. I've killed a hundred people just to numb myself!"

Cecilia felt a pang of heartache.

No one is born a bad person, and no one is born without feelings. It was his upbringing that made Alaric the person he hated.

"Then why did you accept me when I approached you?" Cecilia asked.

Alaric replied, "Cecilia, you can't imagine how much you mean to me! The feelings I've always suppressed for you can be unleashed with just a single glance from you!"
