Chapter 419 Cecilia is Persuaded by Alaric

At that moment, Alaric just shrugged and said, "I'll roll with you."

Cecilia let out a big sigh of relief.

She thought it was way too early for sex.

She pulled herself together and said, "I'm gonna be late, and you haven't even freshened up."

"I'll be quick," Alaric replied.

"Cool, I'll head downstairs and grab some breakfast while I wait," Cecilia said.

"Mrs. Whitaker, I only got two days off. Shouldn't you be glued to me every second?" Alaric teased.

Cecilia was at a loss for words.

She did wanna be with him all the time, but her body was like, "Nope."

"Just hurry up, I'll wait," Cecilia urged, not in the mood to argue.

Alaric nodded and dashed to the bathroom.

He got ready in a flash, changing clothes and running a hand through his hair.

Watching Alaric's quick routine, Cecilia couldn't help but think how easy guys had it.

Alaric could be up and ready in under ten minutes.

And still look drop-dead gorgeous.

While she needed at least half an hour to get her act together.

"Let's roll," Alaric said, grabbing Cecilia's hand.

Their hands were practically buzzing with love.

They strolled to the dining room together.

As soon as they sat down, George rushed out with breakfast.

Cecilia glanced at the spread. Wasn't this a bit over the top?

Did Alaric's return really call for such a feast?

Chicken soup first thing in the morning? Seriously?

Cecilia couldn't help but say, "George, isn't chicken soup for breakfast a bit much?"

"Nope," George shot back. "Mrs. Whitaker, you need the nutrients right now. Don't worry, I skimmed all the fat off. You won't gain a pound."

Who said she needed extra nutrients?

Hadn't she already hit puberty ages ago?

She peeked at the soup in Alaric's bowl. It didn't look like chicken soup.

Seeing her look, George quickly explained, "Mr. Whitaker's soup is different."

"George, are you playing favorites?" Cecilia joked.

It was just a throwaway comment.

"Mrs. Whitaker, don't overthink it. The soups have different effects but the same nutritional value," George quickly said.

"How are they different?" Cecilia asked offhandedly.

Not wanting to waste George's effort, she started sipping the chicken soup.

"Mr. Whitaker's soup is mainly to improve sperm quality..."

Alaric's face got a splash of chicken soup as Cecilia spat it out.

Alaric just stared at her.

Cecilia was mortified.

She'd never been so unladylike in her life.

She quickly grabbed a napkin to wipe Alaric's face. "Sorry, I didn't mean to."

Alaric accepted her help and smiled. "It's cool. I don't mind."

"Mrs. Whitaker, did I say something wrong?" George asked, feeling a bit hurt by her reaction.

"No," Cecilia said, finishing up with Alaric's face and turning to George. "Do you think Alaric needs soup with that effect?"

Alaric's expression shifted slightly.

"Of course not," George said, clearly flustered.

"Then why give it to him?" Cecilia grumbled.

If Alaric kept drinking it, she'd be dead in bed.

"It boosts sperm quality. That way, your baby will be healthier," George quickly explained.

Cecilia finally got it.

George just wanted them to have a baby.

She looked at Alaric.

Alaric felt her gaze and looked back.

He gave her a knowing look.

Cecilia knew what he was thinking. She said irritably, "Alaric, explain it to George."

"Explain what?" Alaric smirked.

"Didn't you say we'd have a baby when I turn 25?" Cecilia reminded him.

"Did I? I don't remember," Alaric said, playing dumb.

"Alaric!" Cecilia gritted her teeth. "Didn't you tell my parents we'd have a baby when I turn 25 and that you even predicted it would be a girl? How can you backtrack now?"

"I'm not backtracking," Alaric retorted.

Alaric got serious for once, "First of all, doesn't it take a year to have a baby?"

"Yeah." Cecilia nodded. "Nine months of pregnancy."

"So if you want the baby at 25, shouldn't you get pregnant at 24?" Alaric asked.

"But I'm not even 23 yet," Cecilia shot back.

"It's not like we're seeing each other every day. You won't get pregnant right away," Alaric said.

She hadn't thought that far.

"If you could get pregnant, you would have been a few months ago. It's been several months, and you're still not pregnant!" Alaric said bluntly.

He was a bit frustrated.

Even though he hadn't used contraception, how come Cecilia still wasn't pregnant?

"I've been taking birth control pills!" Cecilia said bluntly.

They had agreed to have a baby at 25, so she hadn't even considered getting pregnant.

"What?" Alaric's eyes widened.

George's eyes widened too.

"Didn't you say we'd have a baby at 25?" Cecilia asked.

Seeing Alaric so agitated, she felt a bit guilty.

"Anyway, from now on, you can't take them," Alaric said firmly.

"Why? What if I get pregnant now?" Cecilia asked.

"Then you'll have the baby," Alaric said.

"Why can't it wait until I'm 25?" Cecilia was getting exasperated with Alaric.

"What if you start trying at 24 and can't get pregnant? Then you'll miss the golden age of 25!" Alaric argued.

"Alaric, you can't just change your mind like this," Cecilia shouted.

"I'm just planning ahead," Alaric said, touching Cecilia's cheek.

Cecilia turned her head away in anger.

"Be good," Alaric coaxed her.

Cecilia still ignored him.

They had agreed on this, and now he was changing his mind.

"It's not like you'll get pregnant right away," Alaric said, trying to soothe her.

"If you couldn't stick to it, you shouldn't have said that in the first place," Cecilia continued to be angry.

She was holding on to it.

"I didn't know I'd love you this much back then," Alaric said seriously.

Cecilia looked at Alaric.

"I love you so much that I want to have a child with you," Alaric said, full of emotion.

No woman could resist Alaric's charm.

"I heard that babies born to loving parents are very beautiful. I think we could have the most beautiful baby in the world," Alaric said tenderly.

She seemed to be easily swayed by Alaric.
