Chapter 493 Seraphina's Emotional Turbulence

The night was dragging on.

Cecilia was starting to feel a bit drowsy.

Alaric wasn't too keen on sticking around the nightclub either.

Alaric was only there because Cassius had practically begged him to come along, warning him that he'd never escape Hugo's grip and would end up in a mental hospital if he didn't get out. Otherwise, he would have bailed already.

Alaric knew Cassius had a flair for the dramatic.

But since they grew up together, he got where Cassius was coming from, so he tagged along to the club.

"How about we bounce early? If we keep drinking, Seraphina might end up hurling," Cecilia said, eyeing Seraphina and Cassius with concern.

When they were sober, they couldn't stand each other, but drunk? They acted like best buds!

"Yeah, sounds good." Alaric nodded.

He was thinking about heading back too.

He hadn't been home in a while and wanted to chill with Cecilia.

Cecilia was about to get up to call Seraphina.

Then she saw Seraphina get up from the sofa and make a beeline for the door.

She probably had one too many.

Cecilia wanted to go help her out.

As soon as the door opened, Seraphina smacked right into Dashiell.

Dashiell felt someone crash into him hard.

Seraphina almost bounced back from the impact.

Dashiell quickly steadied her.

Just as he got her stable, Seraphina puked all over him.

The room went dead silent.

Cecilia stood there, stunned, not sure what to do or say.

Seraphina had been trying to make it to the bathroom, but after bumping into Dashiell, she couldn't hold it in anymore.

After puking, she felt a lot better.

Even though she was a bit out of it, she realized something was off.

She'd thrown up on someone.

This person seemed kinda familiar.

She looked up and saw Dashiell, who looked totally unfazed.

He was still super handsome.

Right now, he was just staring at her, not saying a word.

Seraphina, still a bit dazed, locked eyes with Dashiell.

Dashiell said, "Can you move aside?"

His voice was flat, but it had a cold edge to it.

His gaze made her feel small.

She rarely drank to the point of puking, but when she found someone who could keep up, she got competitive.

If she'd known she'd embarrass herself like this, she would've backed down instead of betting on drinking with Cassius.

She moved aside and mumbled, "I didn't mean to, I'll pay for it."

"No need," Dashiell said as he walked past her.

He didn't even stop, heading straight for the bathroom.

Seraphina then realized there was a bathroom in the room.

If she'd known earlier, she wouldn't have puked on Dashiell.

She felt pretty crushed.

Cecilia walked over to her, saying, "Let's go, I'll take you home."

"Okay." Seraphina suddenly seemed to sober up.

She looked back at Cecilia and couldn't help but ask, "Was I really that embarrassing just now?"

"What do you think?" Cecilia shot back.

Seraphina felt like crawling into a hole.

She quickly said, "Let's go."

She didn't want to stick around and make things worse for herself.

Cecilia and Alaric grabbed Seraphina and bailed, leaving Cassius behind, who was totally wasted.

He was sprawled out on the sofa.

Dashiell ditched his jacket, then his black cashmere sweater, leaving just a thin white shirt.

He tried to clean his pants with some warm water, getting them mostly wet before heading out.

Everyone knew he was a total neat freak.

So getting puked on was a nightmare for him.

When he came back out, everyone else had split, and only Cassius was still out cold on the sofa.

He bent down to help him up. "Come on, let's get you home."

"I don't wanna go home," Cassius slurred.

"Then your dad's gonna send someone to fetch you."

Cassius went quiet.

Dashiell helped Cassius out of the club.

He had planned to leave work early and come over, but got stuck with some last-minute stuff. By the time he wrapped it up, it was already late, and as soon as he walked in...

He didn't dwell on it and helped Cassius towards the door.

At the door, Seraphina was still puking her guts out.

Cecilia was by her side, with Alaric waiting nearby.

Augustus had already pulled the car up.

"Alaric, you're still here?" Cassius drunkenly tried to stumble over to Alaric.

Dashiell pulled Cassius back.

Alaric glanced at Cassius and said to Dashiell, "Your leg's better now?"

He noticed Dashiell wasn't using a cane and was walking fine.

"Almost fully recovered."

"That's good," Alaric replied.

"You're not wearing much. Get him home early," Alaric urged.

He noticed Dashiell was only in a thin shirt.

The nighttime temperature in Serenovia City was only in the 40s Fahrenheit.

Cecilia listened to their conversation and glanced at Alaric.

She didn't know if it was her imagination, but she felt that Alaric was actually very caring.

Of course, she wasn't jealous.

It was just that Alaric kept surprising her.

Seraphina also heard Alaric and Dashiell's conversation. After puking again, she looked up.

She saw Dashiell helping Cassius towards a car, who was only wearing a thin shirt.

She bit her lip and struggled to stand up from the ground.

Cecilia helped her into the car.

Alaric sat in the front passenger seat.

Cecilia looked at Seraphina, who seemed a bit down, and asked, "You feeling okay?"

Seraphina nodded.

Her stomach actually felt much better.

She usually sobered up quickly, so she drank recklessly.

She knew her current state wasn't because of her stomach, but because she felt crappy inside.

She patted her head, not wanting to think about anything.

Cecilia looked at her and was a bit speechless. "You're not very smart, hitting your head will make you even dumber."

Seraphina glared at Cecilia.

"Drink less next time," Cecilia said, trying to comfort her.

She didn't notice Seraphina's emotional change, just thinking she was drunk and had a headache.

"I swear I won't show up when Dashiell is around!" Seraphina suddenly said through gritted teeth.
