Chapter 525 Setting a Trap (1) Cecilia Goes to Dominic's Wedding

"I saw the news that you're getting married soon," Cecilia's voice was flat as a pancake.

Dominic let out a sarcastic laugh, "What, you jealous? I'm marrying someone way better than you."

Cecilia just smirked.

She didn't bother with Dominic and switched gears. "Weren't you gonna send me an invite? Why haven't I seen it yet?"

"Cecilia, what game are you playing now?" Dominic was clearly on edge.

After all their run-ins and the times he'd been burned, a sly guy like Dominic wasn't about to trust Cecilia easily.

"I only see your fiancée in the media. I wanna meet her in person," Cecilia said.

Dominic sneered, feeling a bit smug. "Trying to size yourself up against her?"

"Nope, just curious," Cecilia replied.

"Curious?" Dominic dragged out the word, clearly not buying it. "Lyra's a hundred times better than you!"

Cecilia remembered that in her previous life, when she died, Dominic said that Lyra was a hundred times more seductive in bed than she was.

Holding the phone, she sneered, "Dominic, let's meet tonight."

"Not a chance," Dominic shot back.

At such a crucial time, there was no way he'd meet Cecilia alone.

Did Cecilia really think he would fall for it so easily?

"I'm not gonna beat around the bush," Cecilia said. "I wanna see Alaric."

"So that's your angle," Dominic seemed to have expected it. "You wanna beg me to take you to see Alaric?"

"Yeah, I'm begging you," Cecilia said through gritted teeth.

"You think begging will work?" Dominic scoffed. "Even if you were on your knees in front of me, I wouldn't help you. Cecilia, I'll make sure you watch Alaric's downfall and miserable end!"

Despite her repeated tolerance, Cecilia was still a bit ticked off by Dominic's words.

"Don't call me again!" Dominic said smugly, "And I never liked you from the start. All the affection I showed you was fake. From beginning to end, the only one I liked was Lyra. Cecilia, don't think you're that important!"

"Is that so?" Cecilia acted indifferent. "Well then, I wish you both the best."

With that, Cecilia hung up.

Her calm attitude still made Dominic uneasy.

He had planned to mock Cecilia, but her cool demeanor left him feeling off.

He gripped his phone tightly, his mind filled with images of Cecilia.

He said he never liked her, but his heart inexplicably skipped a beat.

Dominic's face grew even darker.

Compared to the glamorous life Lyra could offer, Cecilia was nothing!

Cecilia put down her phone, also a bit silent.

Dominic wouldn't be easily fooled, but she had thought it through. The quickest way to see Alaric was through Dominic.

So she couldn't give up on using Dominic.

She took a deep breath, then called Dashiell, asking, "How soon can you get back?"

"A few days, tops. We've found the witnesses, but we're keeping it low-key to avoid tipping them off. Once the court date is set, I'll bring them back. For now, I need to keep an eye on the other side's surveillance of these two. Any slip-up could blow our cover," Dashiell answered.

"Got it." Cecilia nodded, then asked, "Can you make it back for Dominic's wedding?"

Dashiell frowned, "Why?"

"I wanna attend the wedding. Obviously, Dominic's not gonna invite me or our family. But just 'cause he doesn't invite me doesn't mean I can't show up. I have a way in, but I need some backup. Cassius's return is up in the air, so I can't rely on him," Cecilia said straight up.

"Alright, I'll be back the day before Dominic's wedding," Dashiell agreed.

"Perfect." Cecilia nodded.

With that, Cecilia hung up and went back to plotting and organizing her thoughts.

Regarding Alaric's case, they had found evidence proving he was framed, including videos and witnesses. As long as they got their hands on the real financial report, they could clear Alaric's name. Cecilia was pretty sure the report was with Alaric, so she had to see him.

As for Juliana's death, she left that to Cassius for now.

Cecilia kept piecing together every detail of the case.

A week later, it was time for Dominic and Lyra's wedding.

The buzz over the past few days had almost drowned out the news about Alaric's crime.

They'd always been compared, and now Dominic was clearly in the spotlight.

On the wedding day, Cecilia spent nearly three hours getting ready.

She wore a red mermaid gown, the off-shoulder design showing off one of her delicate shoulders, her skin smooth and her collarbone both elegant and seductive.

The red dress made her complexion pop.

After being a mess at home for over a month, she looked like a new person, radiant and glowing.

The tight-fitting gown highlighted her curvy figure.

She was a rare beauty, maybe one in a century.

Cecilia threw a thick coat over her shoulders and got into Augustus's car.

She was heading to Dominic's wedding uninvited, but she made sure to look stunning.

Sitting in the car, Cecilia idly checked the news on her phone.

Today's headlines were all about Dominic and Lyra's grand wedding, with no mention of Alaric for the past few days.

She wasn't sure if that was good or bad.

The car soon pulled up to the most luxurious palace-style hotel in Serenovia City, the Sunset Hotel.

Reporters were already swarming the entrance.

The wedding of Lyra from the Monroe family caused a nationwide sensation, which was completely expected.

And that was exactly the effect she wanted.

The car stopped at the hotel entrance.

As the car stopped, the staff at the door quickly and respectfully opened the door for her.

At the entrance, there was no need to check invitations; that would be done after walking down a red carpet.

So Cecilia could show up in front of all the media without any issues.

As soon as she stepped out of the car, she caused an immediate stir.

The media reporters were all stunned, not expecting Cecilia to attend Dominic's wedding!
