Chapter 625 The End of the Relationship with Sebastian
Sebastian couldn't stop thinking about how Seraphina had been out every night, drinking with Dashiell. He figured if he showed up looking all worn out, she might feel a bit guilty. If he hadn't come tonight, she probably would have ended up in bed with Dashiell.
Once Seraphina actually hooked up with Dashiell, knowing her, she'd definitely break up with Sebastian.
Sebastian stared at Seraphina, his bloodshot eyes full of pain and anger. Seraphina looked down, feeling super uncomfortable, wondering how things had gotten so messed up between them.
She couldn't figure out when she stopped loving Sebastian, the guy she used to be crazy about.
How could those feelings just vanish?
She always thought she'd love Sebastian forever.
Back when she was forced to marry Dashiell, she really hated him.
Tears started streaming down Seraphina's face.
"I won't break up," Sebastian suddenly said.
Seraphina was shocked, and Dashiell just looked at Sebastian with cold indifference. "Not breaking up, never breaking up," Sebastian shouted, looking frantic and unhinged. His furious expression was kind of scary.
"Sebastian, there's nothing between us anymore..." Seraphina said.
"That's you!" Sebastian cut her off. "You're the one who doesn't feel anything! I still love you like crazy. I can't handle breaking up! I won't do it."
"Sebastian, calm down..." Seraphina was scared by how he was acting.
Sebastian had never lost it like this before; he'd never been so broken. Seeing him like this really hurt Seraphina. She didn't want to hurt him.
Even though she didn't feel anything for him anymore, she never said she wanted to break up because she didn't want to hurt him. Over the years, his kindness made it hard for her to think about causing him pain.
But you can't force feelings.
Now, being with Sebastian, Seraphina felt distant and distracted. She kept thinking about Dashiell, and whenever they were together, she found herself moving closer to him. Her body was more honest about her feelings than she realized. Maybe it was best to just break up. Maybe after some time, it would be easier.
Seraphina had once loved Sebastian deeply, but now those feelings were gone. She believed he could move on too. She reached out to hold his hand, trying to calm him down. But as soon as she touched him, Sebastian grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms. Seraphina was startled.
She twisted away, her whole body rejecting him—so different from how she felt with Dashiell. All she wanted was to get away from Sebastian's embrace. But her resistance only made him hold her tighter; he wouldn't let go.
Dashiell's face darkened. "Let her go!" he commanded, his voice dangerous.
But Sebastian just held her tighter, ignoring Dashiell's threat.
"I'll say it again: let go of Seraphina!" Dashiell's voice was intense.
"Who do you think you are?" Sebastian shot back, still holding her tight. "What right do you have to tell me what to do? You're just a nobody!"Seraphina was taken aback.
She didn't expect Sebastian to curse at Dashiell so bluntly.
She tried to twist away, but Sebastian's grip was too strong. Dashiell's cold eyes locked onto Sebastian, his fists clenched in fury. "It's because Seraphina called my name just now," Dashiell said, each word dripping with tension.
Seraphina felt a jolt of shock; she knew exactly what Dashiell meant. He was talking about the moment before their kiss when she had called his name. A whirlwind of emotions surged within her, making everything more complicated. She knew she had to break up with Sebastian—it was her fault—but she didn't want to keep making mistakes.
"Sebastian, let me go! We need to talk!" she exclaimed.
"There's nothing to talk about!" Sebastian shouted through gritted teeth. He felt Dashiell's brute force tightening around his arm, as if it might break. His face paled in shock; he hadn't expected Dashiell to be so strong. But he held on, unwilling to let go.
"Let go of Seraphina!" Dashiell threatened through clenched teeth. Trapped in Sebastian's arms, Seraphina was bewildered by the standoff between the two men. Dashiell seemed both fierce and incredibly strong to her.
The next second, she felt an unexpected release as Sebastian finally let go of her.
If he didn't let go, his arm might really be crushed by Dashiell.
And the moment Sebastian let go, Dashiell pulled Seraphina into his arms.
Seraphina was startled again, feeling like an object being tugged back and forth between the two men. Yet, as Dashiell pulled her toward him, she couldn't deny the excitement that surged through her. She felt a pang of sympathy for Sebastian, but the events of the night had solidified her resolve to break up with him. She didn't want to drag this out any longer.
She knew Sebastian would be heartbroken, but she was determined to make it up to him in time.
In Dashiell's arms, Seraphina didn't resist. The anger on Sebastian's face became more evident as he said, "Seraphina, I'm really disappointed in you!"
Hearing this, Seraphina felt a bit guilty.
Back then, she had been the one to actively pursue a relationship with Sebastian, but now she found herself falling for someone else.
"I..." Sebastian suddenly fell silent, his eyes turning red and welling with tears.
Seraphina was taken aback by his sudden display of emotion; she would have preferred him to scold her than to see him so heartbroken. A wave of guilt washed over her, making her heart ache.
"I'm sorry, Sebastian..." she whispered, her voice full of regret.
"The last thing I want to hear in this life is 'I'm sorry.'" Sebastian suddenly turned and left.
Seraphina watched his back, instinctively wanting to chase after him.
However, Dashiell held her arm firmly, causing Seraphina to bite her lip in frustration. "If you want to break up, don't chase after him," Dashiell said bluntly.
Sebastian's footsteps were slow as he walked away, and he heard Dashiell's words clearly.
At that moment, Sebastian even slowed down a bit.
However, Seraphina didn't chase after him, not even calling out to him.
A trace of coldness flashed in Sebastian's eyes.
If he couldn't have Seraphina, no one could!
He gritted his teeth and left.
When he left, he slammed the door shut, underscoring the depth of his anger.
