Chapter 563 Second Trial (6) Exposing Dominic on the Spot

Dominic was freaking out, but he was trying to keep it together.

He jumped up from his seat and hurried over to Lyra, putting on his best concerned husband act. "What's going on? Are you feeling sick? Why did you come here? Didn't I tell Penelope to stay home with you and make sure you rested? Where is she? How could she be so careless!"

Lyra listened to his fake concern and let out a bitter laugh.

Penelope? Seriously?

How could Dominic even mention Penelope right now?

Penelope had tried to kill Lyra. If Cecilia's people hadn't shown up in time, Lyra would be dead.

Dominic saw the anger in Lyra's eyes but pretended not to notice. He knew he should get Lyra out of there, so he grabbed her arm and tried to pull her away.

But Lyra yanked her arm back and said, "Let go of me."

"Come on, you can't make a scene in the courtroom. If you keep this up, you'll get in trouble," Dominic said softly. "I'll take you home."

He turned to Joe and everyone else, apologizing. "Sorry for the disruption. I'll accept any punishment later."

"Let go of me!" Lyra shouted, her voice breaking.

She knew if Dominic took her away now, she was as good as dead.

She couldn't go with him, but he was too strong, and she couldn't break free.

And with Dominic acting all caring, everyone would think it was just a lovers' quarrel.

Lyra was on the edge of losing it. She'd barely escaped death once; she wasn't about to go through that again.

"Where do you think you're going?" Cassius suddenly appeared, blocking their path.

Dominic snapped, "Move!"

Cassius stood his ground. "I don't think Ms. Monroe wants to go with you."

"Mind your own business," Dominic growled.

"I can't help it; I like to stick up for people. If Ms. Monroe wants to go with you, fine. If not, you're not taking her anywhere," Cassius said coolly.

Dominic's face twisted with anger.

It was clear this was all a setup by Cecilia.

Grinding his teeth, Dominic threatened, "Cassius, don't make this worse for yourself!"

Cassius shrugged. "Your threats don't scare me." He turned to Lyra. "Do you want to go with him?"

"No way!" Lyra said firmly.

"Alright then." Cassius cracked his neck, then his knuckles. In the next second, he punched Dominic square in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Dominic tried to get up, but Cassius was on him, punching and kicking with a vengeance.

Cassius thought, 'For everything you did to Alaric, I'm going to make you pay!' He didn't hold back.

Lyra watched, her expression cold.

After a while, the court bailiffs finally reacted and rushed over, pulling Cassius off Dominic and detaining him for contempt of court.

Cecilia watched, a bit exasperated as Cassius was led away.

She'd only asked him to stop Dominic, not beat him to a pulp.

When would Cassius learn to control his temper?

Looked like he was going to be locked up for another ten days or so.

Cecilia's eyes glinted with a mix of frustration and amusement.

Seeing Dominic's battered face and thinking about everything Alaric had gone through in prison, Cecilia suddenly felt it was worth it for Cassius to be locked up for a few days.

"Is Cassius always this intense?" Seraphina couldn't help but ask.

It was a bit scary, but why did she feel a weird sense of satisfaction?

Dominic, beaten and bruised, struggled to get up, still trying to take Lyra away, but she had already distanced herself from him.

Octavia, heartbroken, stood by Dominic's side and screamed, "Hitting people is illegal! Cassius should be locked up and sentenced to death!"

The courtroom was in chaos for a moment!

Joe sternly banged his gavel and said, "Order!"

Instantly, the courtroom fell silent.

In that moment of silence, Lyra spoke up loudly, "Your Honor, please allow me to present evidence of Dominic's crimes."

Joe was troubled; he knew he couldn't afford to offend Lyra.

But from the beginning, this case had been following Dominic's arrangements.

What was going on now?

As Joe hesitated, Gideon stood up and respectfully asked, "According to the laws of the Yakurosean Empire, can two cases be handled simultaneously?"

Joe replied, "Normally, no. But if the two cases are related, they can be handled together."

Gideon said, "Then please, Your Honor, accept Lyra's request."

Joe remained silent, feeling a bit at a loss. After a few seconds of stalemate, he finally said, "Handling this case involves many procedures. I need to discuss it with my jury."

Hearing this, Gideon nodded.

When Joe and the jury left, the courtroom became noisy again.

When Gideon returned to his seat, he glanced at Cecilia.

He really hadn't expected it: Cecilia had actually done it. She had made the Monroe family completely abandon Dominic.

Ten minutes later, Joe and the jury returned.

This time, without hesitation, Joe said, "Please submit evidence of Dominic's crimes, Lyra."

Dominic's status instantly became that of the defendant.

Lyra seemed a bit excited and said, "Thank you, Your Honor."

"Lyra," Dominic called out to her.

At this moment, he was also restrained by the bailiffs, unable to move.

Meanwhile, two bailiffs stood beside Lyra as well.

She walked past Dominic coldly, as if she hadn't heard his heartfelt call.

Even if she had heard it, she would only find it ironic.

Lyra walked to the witness stand.

At the same time, Dominic was also brought to the defendant's stand, just two people away from her.

It was unimaginable how it had come to this.

Lyra submitted the evidence and said directly, "This is all the recordings of Dominic colluding with officials from the Harborvale State Office, as well as some of his payment information. He bribed people from the Harborvale State Office to frame Alaric. Bobby and Robbie, who delivered cash to Alaric's family, were also arranged by Dominic. All the evidence is on the USB drive I provided."

She paused for a moment before continuing, "As for Juliana's death, it was also Dominic. He had Juliana seduce Alaric and then killed her to frame Alaric. Dominic hadn't expected that Alaric wouldn't have sex with Juliana. In response, he had others rape Juliana and then dump her body into the river used for disposing of corpses. Her body was found days later, specifically to erase any DNA evidence that could link back to them, making it easier to frame Alaric."
