Chapter 476 The Game (21) Revenge Feels So Good
If the Kingsley Family lost half of the company's shares, someone could easily orchestrate a takeover through some schemes.
Dominic couldn't let the Kingsley Family legacy go down the drain on his watch.
His face was like a storm cloud.
He couldn't think of any way to save the Kingsley Group from this mess without screwing himself over.
"Dominic, we've known each other for a while, and I don't want to make things too hard for you. So, I'll give you three days to think it over. If you can't pay back the loan in three days, I'll go the legal route to get my money," Cecilia said with a smug smile.
Her grin was dripping with pride.
Dominic's fists were clenched so tight, and his body was so tense, he looked like he might blow up any second.
But he forced himself to keep it together.
In this state, he looked downright scary.
Cecilia didn't give a damn.
Seeing Dominic pushed to the edge made her feel awesome.
He thought he could lean on the Monroe Family and charm Lyra to skate through this.
She wanted to show him that no matter who he leaned on, she could still push him to the brink.
The three days she gave him weren't to let him off the hook; she wanted to drag this out and make him suffer. Ending it quickly would be too easy.
Cecilia didn't even glance at Dominic again. She turned to Atticus and said, "Atticus, sorry to bother you. I'm done here, so I'll be heading out."
"I'll walk you out," Atticus said, genuinely nice to Cecilia.
He always wished Seraphina could learn a thing or two from Cecilia.
Now, seeing Cecilia's cool and collected vibe, he felt even more bummed thinking about Seraphina's lack of direction.
"No need, Atticus, you go ahead with your work," Cecilia said with a slight smile.
She was all friendly and humble to Atticus, a total 180 from how she treated Dominic.
Dominic just couldn't wrap his head around why Cecilia had changed so much.
Why had she turned into such a snob?
Cecilia left the conference room.
Atticus watched her leave and let out a deliberate sigh, "Cecilia is such a catch; whoever marries her is one lucky guy."
Dominic's face got even darker.
If it weren't for his scandal blowing up, he would've married Cecilia.
It wouldn't have been Alaric!
He forced himself to hold it together.
Atticus didn't say more. He turned to Dominic and smiled. "Let's get back to our deal."
Dominic hesitated for a few seconds, not wanting to pay back the loan.
But even if he didn't pay up, he still couldn't settle Cecilia's two billion dollar debt.
He gritted his teeth and paid Everhart Bank.
Then he stormed out, fuming.
As soon as he stepped out of Everhart Bank, a swarm of reporters surrounded him.
Dominic remembered he had invited a bunch of media outlets to cover how he had fixed his loan fraud in time. But now, he wasn't in the mood to show off. If the two-billion-dollar debt to the Lockhart Group was still hanging over his head, and the Kingsley Group could go under.
He tried to push past the reporters.
"Mr. Kingsley, we heard the Kingsley Group still owes two billion bucks. Cecilia from the Lockhart Group just came by to collect!" a reporter yelled.
Dominic's face twisted in an instant.
He turned and shot a death glare at his senior assistant.
Weren't these reporters supposed to be on their payroll?
How could they ask something like that?
The senior assistant looked just as confused.
They had definitely bribed all the reporters.
"Cecilia just swung by and told all the media that the Kingsley Group still owes them two billion. She hopes you can pay up as soon as you settle the loan with Everhart Bank," the reporter quickly added.
Dominic's face went dark.
He clenched his fists, shaking with rage.
Cecilia again!
That witch Cecilia was making things hell for him on purpose.
She was blowing this up, making sure he got hit from all sides when he couldn't fix it.
He stormed off, fuming.
"Mr. Kingsley," the reporter kept pushing.
Dominic, usually so chill, finally snapped.
He shoved the reporter, sending them stumbling to the ground.
Chaos erupted.
Dominic bulldozed through the reporters.
At that moment, Dominic had lost all sense. He didn't give a damn about his gentlemanly image anymore, storming off with a dark look.
Back in the car, Dominic was still seething when he got a call from Tomas.
Tomas didn't even bother to scold him, probably because he was so disappointed he didn't think it was worth it. He coldly told Dominic, "Consider the billion bucks a lesson for myself. Dominic, from now on, you're on your own. If you mess with Lyra again, I'll make you pay!"
He hung up without letting Dominic get a word in.
Dominic gritted his teeth.
His rage, fueled by Tomas's cold treatment, boiled over. He smashed his phone against the car window.
The execs in the front and beside him didn't dare to breathe.
At that moment, Dominic really wanted to kill Cecilia.
He wanted to tear her apart.
This time, Cecilia had really pushed him to the edge!
In a conference room at Everhart Bank, Sebastian coldly watched Dominic's humiliation.
He had once had high hopes for Dominic, thinking he could help him rise to power.
Today, seeing Cecilia's relentless pressure on Dominic, he was glad he had distanced himself from Dominic in time.
Otherwise, he might have gone down with Dominic.
Sebastian's eyes turned icy.
With no one to turn to, he had to stand on his own two feet.
And his first target was Dashiell!

A smile tugged at her lips.
Revenge was sweet in the moment, and even sweeter as it kept going!
