Chapter 420 Cecilia and Alaric PDA'd All over the Place
Alaric noticed Cecilia didn't put up a fight and decided to spoon-feed her some chicken soup.
Cecilia, still kinda emotional, opened her mouth and took a sip.
It wasn't Alaric's crazy talk about love babies being beautiful that made her give in.
She just suddenly felt like Alaric really wanted a kid.
And she found it hard to say no when he truly wanted something.
They had breakfast together.
The idea of having a kid seemed to become this unspoken thing between them.
But Cecilia would never actually say yes out loud.
At most, she'd just go with the flow and see what happens.
After breakfast, Alaric drove Cecilia to work.
Since they left a bit later than usual, Alaric drove a bit faster, and they got there quick.
Even though Cecilia was still kinda upset about the whole baby thing.
She still felt a bit bummed to part so soon.
She opened the car door, with Alaric right behind her.
Cecilia said, "I'll try to leave work on time."
"You better leave on time. I'll be here to pick you up," Alaric said firmly.
"Cut the flashy stuff. It's not cool if my colleagues see," Cecilia said.
"Getting shy now?" Alaric teased.
"I'm the boss; I gotta keep my authority," Cecilia said seriously.
Alaric patted Cecilia's head, saying, "Alright, all the flashy stuff stays in the bedroom."
"Alaric!" Cecilia's face turned red.
"You should get to work now." Alaric kept patting her head.
Cecilia pouted.
Then turned and walked away.
"By the way, I'll need Augustus for the day," Alaric called out to Cecilia's back.
Cecilia walked away without looking back.
She was afraid she wouldn't be able to leave.
Alaric watched Cecilia's back until she completely disappeared, then turned and left.
It was the morning rush hour, with so many people coming and going to work.
Some employees saw Alaric dropping Cecilia off and started whispering.
"Before, we only knew from the news that they had a good relationship. Now it seems they really do. Mr. Whitaker even dropped her off early in the morning. Wasn't that a head pat just now? So loving."
"Not only that, but I also saw Mr. Whitaker waiting for her after work last night. You know Ms. Lockhart is a workaholic and won't leave until 8 or 9 PM. Last night, Mr. Whitaker waited until after 8 PM, and he even brought flowers and set up lights. So romantic."
"Really, Exceptional individuals are drawn to one another. Mr. Whitaker is so handsome, ambitious, considerate, gentle, and romantic. Only someone as excellent as Ms. Lockhart can match him."
"Us regular folks can just sit back and watch the fireworks."
The noisy chatter passed by.
Juliana listened and then saw the dignified man leaving in the car.
She used to think Dominic was the best man in the world, who was talented, with a good family background.
When Dominic and Cecilia were together, she was always jealous and envious.
She knew Isadora felt the same way, hating to see such a good man with Cecilia.
So she plotted to have Isadora seduce Dominic, knowing that someone as smart as Dominic would never end up with Isadora. This way, she could get rid of Isadora and test what kind of person Dominic was.
If Isadora could seduce him, then she could too.
So after Isadora bit the dust, she'd naturally go after him.
But now she saw things clearly.
Dominic was all talk and no action.
And he'd been outsmarted by Cecilia time and time again.
Why was he so hyped up before?
Probably just media fluff.
Juliana wasn't interested in Dominic anymore and wouldn't waste her time on him.
Instead, she had her eyes on Alaric.
She really didn't know if Cecilia was just naturally lucky or what?
When she was dating Dominic, she was the envy of all the women in Serenovia City, who thought she had snagged the perfect guy, whether she married him or not.
Later, she married Alaric.
When no one thought much of Alaric, he unexpectedly shone brightly, and now he was miles ahead of Dominic. It seemed it wouldn't be long before Dominic wouldn't even be qualified to carry Alaric's shoes!
Juliana's eyes narrowed.
She might not be good at other things, and her work was clearly her weak point.
But when it came to judging men, she was always spot on!
Juliana's lips curled into a cold smile.
She was determined to win over Alaric!
Alaric left in Augustus's car and called Cassius, "Where are you? I need to talk to you."
"I'm at the hospital," Cassius quickly replied. "Wait for me at the usual spot. I'll be there in an hour after I'm done."
"What are you doing at the hospital?" Alaric asked.
"Nothing special... I'll tell you later. Wait for me! You can't just go back to Cecilia right away; you gotta spend some time with me too!" Cassius rambled on.
Alaric agreed.
Cassius gave a few more instructions before hanging up.
He was sitting in the doctor's office.
The doctor was explaining some precautions.
Cassius, growing impatient, said to the doctor, "Alright, just tell me, how long does an abortion take?"
"About half an hour."
"Then hurry up, I'm in a rush." Cassius urged.
Lily glanced at Cassius.
She knew Cassius wouldn't have any compassion, but his complete lack of emotion still made her uncomfortable.
Since deciding to abort the baby last night, she hadn't slept a wink.
Today, she still felt emotionally distressed.
Even though she remained silent.
"First, we need to do a preoperative check." The doctor handed her a form. "If everything is fine, we can proceed with the surgery."
"Okay." Lily took the form.
Since it was a VIP service, a dedicated nurse accompanied her.
As she stood up to leave, she saw Cassius sitting motionless in his chair.
Lily bit her lip and followed the nurse out.
Cassius waited in the lounge for a long time.
But the test results weren't back.
Cassius grew increasingly impatient. Weren't they supposed to come back before the surgery?
Why was it taking so long?
The key was that he had an appointment with Alaric.
Alaric, that guy, was so whipped that he might go see Cecilia if he waited too long.
Cassius was getting restless.
He was also worried that if Lily tried to pull any tricks, he wouldn't want to deal with the aftermath, so he stayed.
Just as Cassius was losing patience, his phone suddenly rang.
Cassius' heart skipped a beat when he saw his father's incoming call.
It definitely wasn't good news!
