Chapter 487 Alaric's so Bad

Before Alaric hit the sack, Cecilia had already shut her eyes.

She had zero interest in dealing with Alaric and Emily's drama.

Then she felt Alaric getting closer, his body pressing up against hers.

Cecilia played possum.

"Babe," Alaric whispered in her ear.

She stayed silent.

"If you don't answer, I'll take that as a yes," he said with a cheeky grin, his hands starting to roam.

Cecilia's body went stiff.

She cracked her eyes open and glared at Alaric, "What are you doing?"

"Thought you were asleep." Alaric chuckled.

"Alaric," Cecilia snapped.

She was already pissed off today, and now he was pushing her buttons.

Alaric laughed softly, pulling Cecilia into his arms without making any more moves, just holding her tight.

He explained, "Emily might be a pain, but I can't just ditch her."

"She's your sister, of course you can't ignore her," Cecilia shot back sarcastically.

Alaric smiled and didn't say much, just, "The Whitaker family's been good to me."

'Yeah right, if your own parents aren't good to you, who will be?' Cecilia thought.

Besides, it wasn't Emily that had her all riled up.

What really got to her was Alaric's behavior that afternoon, which left a bad taste in her mouth.

She turned over, her back to Alaric.

"Remember that promise I made you?" Alaric asked.

Cecilia replied coolly, "You've made me a ton of promises, how am I supposed to know which one?"

"I said, one day I'd come back to you clean," Alaric said, stressing each word.

Cecilia's heart skipped a beat.

"So don't worry," Alaric said, hugging her from behind and nuzzling into her neck. "I'm me, not anyone else."

Cecilia wasn't sure if Alaric was trying to say that the man she saw was the real him.

That night, Cecilia's mind was racing.

Her past made it tough to fully trust anyone.

She wanted to believe him, but she couldn't do it without holding back.

All night, Alaric was surprisingly chill.

Probably scared of really hurting her, he kept himself in check. Sometimes Cecilia even felt that although Alaric was a bit of a control freak, he was more often tiptoeing around her.

In her mind, Alaric was always smooth with women, always charming his way into women's hearts, and she was no exception. At first, she had no feelings for him, but somehow, she still got pulled into his orbit.

With Alaric being so strong and confident, why did she feel like he was always scared of losing her?

Cecilia just couldn't figure Alaric out.

She just wished Alaric would spill whatever secret he was hiding, so she could deal with the real Alaric in front of her.

The Next Day.

At dawn, Cecilia was still out cold from last night's sleeplessness.

Alaric probably didn't sleep either.

Anyway, he held Cecilia all night, wide awake.

Just when they were finally catching some Z's, there was a knock on the door. "Alaric, Cecilia."

Cecilia felt like it was a curse, making her body reject it.

She kicked Alaric with her foot.

Alaric, also grumpy from being woken up, sat up from the bed and opened the door, his tone distinctly displeased. "What do you want?"

Emily looked at Alaric's imposing manner, her eyes immediately reddening. "I just wanted to say good morning to you and Cecilia."

"Heard it!" he said, slamming the door shut.

Emily's face turned pale.

She knew Alaric always kept his distance from her, but he had never shown such obvious disgust. Ever since Cecilia came along, Alaric had completely changed.

She gritted her teeth and went downstairs.

The room finally quieted down.

But Cecilia suddenly couldn't sleep anymore.

She was clearly very tired, but once she woken up in the morning, it was hard to fall back asleep.

She sat up from the bed, annoyed.

"What's wrong?" Alaric asked, seeing her in a bad mood.

For some reason, he found Cecilia very cute with her messy hair and disheveled clothes.

"I can't sleep," Cecilia said, getting out of bed.

Alaric suddenly grabbed her.

Cecilia was startled, and before she could react, Alaric had pinned her down. "Alaric, what are you doing?"

"Since you can't sleep and it's still early, we can pick up where we left off last night."

"Are you crazy!"Cecilia was speechless; one day, Alaric would drive her mad.

"I heard morning sex helps with conception," as he spoke, Alaric moved closer to Cecilia.

Cecilia twisted her body to resist.

'Who wants to have sex early in the morning?'

"Don't move," Alaric whispered in her ear.

"It might scare the baby," Alaric whispered.

She kicked him hard.

Alaric suddenly clutched his body.

His face instantly showed a pained expression.

"Do you want me to be impotent?" Alaric shouted.

Cecilia was also startled by Alaric's reaction. She had only kicked lightly. Maybe with a bit of force. Could it really hurt that much?

She quickly went over, asking, "Is it serious? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"Check if it's swollen first," Alaric said seriously.

Cecilia went over, but Alaric suddenly grabbed her hand and moved closer, at the critical moment, Cecilia pushed Alaric away.

She said, "Alaric, I think you should go to the hospital for a check-up."

"I'm healthy," Alaric retorted.

"Whether you're healthy or not is for the doctor to decide," Cecilia said seriously.

Alaric was a bit angry.

"We haven't used contraception for so long and I still haven't conceived. We should get checked and treat accordingly," Cecilia said bluntly. "Tomorrow is Saturday, I'll go to the hospital with you for a check-up."

Alaric didn't respond.

"That's settled then," Cecilia said, not caring about Alaric's mood.

Anyway, some things needed to be faced.

She pushed Alaric away and got out of bed.

Looking back at his overly dejected expression, she couldn't help but feel a bit of schadenfreude!
