Chapter 203 Alaric, Are You a Bad Person?

"So, what exactly is your relationship with Rebecca?" Cecilia asked.

After telling him about her condition, she straightforwardly questioned him.

"Ms. Lockhart, I'm not a casual man," Alaric word for word.

Cecilia frowned.

"Rebecca and I have no relationship," Alaric added.

Cecilia turned over and looked at him.

In the darkness, their eyes met.

Somehow, she believed him at that moment.

She believed that Alaric and Rebecca had no relationship.

She said, "Alaric, can you tell me who you really are?"

"Do you want to know?"

Cecilia hesitated for a moment and said, "Yes."

Even though, she was a bit scared.

Alaric's world was clearly different from hers.

She didn't know if she could accept it.

"Sorry," Alaric's eyes flickered as he said, "I could't tell you."

Cecilia was visibly disappointed.

"It's not that I don't trust you. I just don't want to affect your life," he added.

Cecilia bit her lip lightly.

She said, "Alaric, are you a bad person?"

Alaric answered, "I'm not a good person."

So, what kind of person Alaric really was?

"But I won't harm you," Alaric said firmly.

It seemed like he was making a promise to her.

She looked at Alaric intently.

She didn't know if she should believe him.

That night, they both had their own thoughts.

Clearly, they had opened up their feelings to each other.

But they didn't dare to let go easily.

The next morning, when Cecilia woke up, the spot next to her was already empty.

Did Alaric get up this early?

Usually, he liked to sleep in, especially during the time he was recovering from his leg injury at home.

She didn't even know when his leg got better.

Last night, when he came to save her, there was no sign of injury at all. He even carried her all the way back here.

Her whole heart seemed to be warmed by him.

Cecilia got out of bed.

Although she was wrapped up like a mummy, they were all superficial wounds, and after a night's rest, she felt much better.

She went downstairs.

Downstairs, George was busy.

Seeing her get up, he quickly approached, "Ma'am."

"Where's Alaric?"

"He has already left."

Cecilia was stunned, "Where did he go?"

"He went to Astralton City." George replied.

Cecilia's face clearly showed some displeasure.

Last night he was so affectionate, and this morning, he just left without a word.

"He has to deal with some matters," George explained quickly, seeing Cecilia's expression.

"It has nothing to do with me," Cecilia said coldly.

George smiled a little.

Cecilia was obviously just talking out of her ass.

He respectfully asked, "Would you like some breakfast, ma'am?"

"Thank you." Cecilia walked straight to the dining table.

George put the breakfast on and went off to do his own thing. He knew that Cecilia didn't like having someone accompany her while she ate.

Cecilia ate breakfast while watching the news.

Her eyes suddenly paused.

She clicked on it and saw the real-time news headline: #Early this morning, a female body was found in an old warehouse on Barn Alley Street. Outside the warehouse, two male bodies were found, one of which was severely mutilated.#

Cecilia quickly clicked on the photos to take a look.

It was all mosaiced though.

Cecilia immediately recognized that the woman in the photo was clearly Rebecca, and the two male bodies were the men who had been with Rebecca last night.

She was still a bit shocked.

Was it all done by Alaric?

Rebecca shouldn't have been killed by Alaric.

If Alaric wanted to kill her, it wouldn't be so elaborate.

So, Rebecca must have committed suicide.

Cecilia felt a bit stiff.

When the phone rang, it really startled her.

She looked at Alaric's call and took a moment before answering, "Alaric."

"Getting up yet?" Alaric asked.

"Yes," Cecilia responded.

"I came back last night on short notice, and I still have things to handle here," he seemed to be explaining why he left so early.

"Well," Cecilia still responded lightly.

"What's wrong? Are you upset?" The voice on the other end carried a hint of a smile.

She was very upset when he left.

But now, all her emotions were drawn to the news she had just seen.

She adjusted her emotions quietly and asked in the calmest voice, "Alaric, I saw the news. Rebecca is dead."

There was some silence on the other end.

"And the two men who were with Rebecca are also dead," Cecilia added.

It was still a bit of a shock to say it.

She didn't know what kind of mood to be in to face such a fact.

It was completely different from her original understanding of the world.

It took a while for Alaric to speak.

He said, "Are you scared?"

Cecilia was stunned.

She didn't know.

She had experienced many miserable things in her past life.

She was just afraid of repeating the same mistakes.

"Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you," Alaric's magnetic voice was distinctly melodious.

At that moment, Cecilia didn't know how to accept it.

Such a stiff conversation.

Just as Alaric was about to hang up, Cecilia suddenly asked him, "When will you be back?"

She changed the subject.

Sometimes, when she didn't want to face something, she would choose to avoid it.

"Do you want me to come back?" The voice on the other end was clearly a bit self-deprecating.

"The day after tomorrow, the Tower of Light reopens. I want you to come back and cut the ribbon with me."

"Okay," he agreed immediately.

Cecilia was clearly a bit skeptical, "Can you really come back the day after tomorrow?"

"If you want me back, I'll crawl back if I have to."

'Who said I wanted you back?' Cecilia thought.

"See you the day after tomorrow," Alaric's mouth quirked.

"Ok."

After hanging up, Cecilia was still a bit silent.

Her eyes glanced at the news again.

Slowly, she let it go.

She felt that since she had come this far with Alaric, there was no reason to back out easily.

She believed that her choice was not wrong!

After breakfast, Cecilia still went to the office.

Most of her wounds were on her body, and her face was fine. With some makeup, it wasn't very noticeable.

The person driving her to work today wasn't Augustus, but someone else arranged by Alaric.

Alaric must have guessed she would go out, so he arranged someone for her temporarily.

Many times, she was moved by Alaric's actions.

It was Alaric who talked harshly, but does things that are all about doting on her.

In stark contrast to Dominic from the past.

Dominic only talked, making grand promises, making her feel he loved her deeply.

In reality, he never took any action.

So, Alaric and Dominic were different.

She shouldn't doubt other men's feelings for her because of Dominic.
