Chapter 51 The Grand Wedding 9 Alaric Proposes on the Spot
Dominic stared intently at Cecilia.
Cecilia smiled. Her tone was light but firm.
Dominic endured, suppressing his anger.
He had done everything, why wouldn’t Cecilia forgive him?
He was so humbled. What else did she want from him?
He said, "What can I do to make you marry me?"
Dominic sounded a bit angry.
He couldn't pretend anymore.
Cecilia knew it too.
Dominic felt he had exhausted all means to seek forgiveness, if she still didn't forgive him, it would be her fault.
She coldly said, "I won’t , no matter what you do."
"Enough, Cecilia!" Dominic lowered his voice, gritting his teeth. "If you say so. We are over. I swear I will never marry you again!"
"I am glad to hear that." Cecilia maintained indifference.
"Cecilia!" Dominic's fury verged on the explosive, it seemed as if he might erupt completely. "You made me go through all of this. You forced me to kneel solely to embarrass me, right? You never had any intention of forgiving me, right?"
"Yes," Cecilia admitted.
Everything she had done was in retaliation for the cruel acts in her past life.
Clearly, it was far from enough.
She had merely claimed an early victory.
"Cecilia, you better not regret what you said and did today!" Dominic threatened ominously.
"I will never regret it!" she retorted.
Dominic found himself utterly incensed by Cecilia.
His suppressed anger was, little by little, erupting.
Just as Dominic was on the verge of casting aside all cares about his image and contending with Cecilia, Ophelia suddenly roared.
"Enough, Cecilia!"
Cecilia narrowed her eyes, looking coldly at her.
Perhaps in the next second, Dominic would be pushed to his limit by her, and might do something to completely ruin his image, but at that moment, Ophelia abruptly stopped this momentum.
Her sudden hostility even made Ophelia a bit intimidated.
She couldn't believe that Cecilia could have such strong aura.
That moment, she seemed to have saw Cecilia's grandfather, Gabriel.
She seemed to suddenly understand why Gabriel had always liked Cecilia, because Cecilia was most like him!
"Grandmother, I'll say it again, I make the decisions about my marriage. If anything I did affected your interests, forgive me, I can't sacrifice my happiness for you." Cecilia said sarcastically, yet with a hint of determination.
Ophelia was furious. "I'm doing this for your own good! You and Dominic grew up together, and understand each other. You are a perfect match. Now you want to divorce him over a small mistake Dominic made. That’s impulsive!"
"A small mistake?" Cecilia coldly mocked, "For you, Grandma, if cheating is a small mistake, why were you so angry when Grandpa talked to a girl in work? If you say that, Grandpa accidentally flirted outside, you not only forgave him generously, but also encouraged him?"
"Cecilia!" Ophelia was furious at Cecilia's mockery.
"If you can't do it yourself, why should I be expected to?" Cecilia's angry voice questioned firmly!
Ophelia felt extremely embarrassed by Cecilia's rebuke!
She was now trying to reconcile, partly on behalf of the Kingsley family, to establish a friendly relationship with them and ensure the wedding proceeded smoothly. On the other hand, as the matriarch of the Lockhart family, if she couldn't even control her own granddaughter, she lacked authority.
"Grandmother, do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Cecilia's tone softened slightly, suddenly bowing respectfully to Ophelia, showing great respect.
"I've encountered many things today, my attitude wasn't good, and I made you angry, that was my fault. Please forgive me, I hope you can understand my perspective."
This action made it impossible for Ophelia to criticize Cecilia more harshly.
She endured it and then spoke with great seriousness, "Cecilia, I am doing this for your own good. Dominic is such a good man, and you two grew up together, it's a pity to break up over a small mistake. Listen to me, give Dominic another chance. I promise, if Dominic mistreats you again, I'll teach him a lesson!"
Ophelia found that a tough approach didn't work with Cecilia, so she began to use a softer approach.
Cecilia smiled, "Grandmother, I'm sure that Dominic and I can't go back to how things were. I have my principles, I have my pride, I won't allow my marriage to be ruined, please understand me."
Ophelia, who had just shown a friendly face, now became angry again.
Cecilia didn't want to argue with Ophelia anymore, she bowed again and turned to leave.
"Cecilia! Do you think you can find a better man than Dominic? I've told to you, but you don’t listen! Who would want to marry a disrespectful woman like you?” Ophelia's words were extremely harsh.
Cecilia bit her lip.
How much Ophelia looked down on her to make such judgment .
She glared at Ophelia.
Just as she was about to speak, a magnetic male voice suddenly sounded in the darkness.
"Who said no one wants Cecilia?"
All eyes suddenly focused on the man walking up from the stage.
He was dressed in a white suit, which seemed to emit a beautiful halo under the lights.
He was tall and handsome, exuding an aristocratic calmness.
He stopped in front of Cecilia, his attractive eyes gazing deeply at her.
He said, "I'll marry you."
At that moment.
Cecilia truly felt she had a crush on him.
