Chapter 794 Cecilia's Compromise

Juniper walked out of Cecilia's hospital room.

She still felt heavy, but she let out a sigh of relief.

Cecilia, even in her weakened state, still exuded a strong sense of pressure.

If it weren't absolutely necessary, she wouldn't have come to persuade Cecilia to reconcile with Alaric.

She had to admit, when Cecilia said, "Do you mind that your husband has always had someone he likes?" it really struck a chord with her.

She minded.

She minded a lot.

No matter what her feelings for Alaric were now, her pride wouldn't allow Alaric to always have feelings for another woman.

But now there was no choice.

She had to persuade Cecilia to reconcile with Alaric.

After all, it was Dashiell's suggestion.

Everything she said today was what Dashiell had told her to say to Cecilia.

She had actually asked Dashiell why he didn't say it himself.

Anyone who said these things to Cecilia would be accepted by her.

Dashiell gave her a very straightforward answer, "I don't want Cecilia to hate me."

Juniper frowned.

So she was to be the scapegoat.

Dashiell explained, "You and Cecilia can never be friends."

Meaning, even if she said these things today, it wouldn't affect her relationship with Cecilia.

Moreover, "These words coming from you would be the most impactful. Speaking from your position, these threats to Cecilia would make her believe them more."

Juniper had to admire the people around Alaric.

Cassius might be impulsive, but any task Alaric assigned to him, Cassius would complete diligently without a single mistake.

Now this Dashiell, who she had never dealt with before, had, in just a few words, made it hard for her to find a reason to refuse.

No wonder Alaric entrusted all economic affairs to Dashiell.

Dashiell was definitely not a simple character.

Of course.

What moved her the most was when Dashiell said, "If you persuade Cecilia to reconcile with Alaric, Alaric won't reject you. This is the key to you two being able to live well together."

Dashiell was right.

Alaric's heart was entirely with Cecilia now. If she tried to sabotage their relationship, it would backfire on her relationship with Alaric.

But if she stood by Alaric's side and genuinely helped him, Alaric would be grateful to her, making it easier for them to get along.

At this point, she had no choice but to agree with Dashiell.

She took a deep breath and returned from Cecilia's room to Alaric's room.

Alaric lay on the hospital bed, eyes closed.

He sensed her return but didn't turn to look at her.

She even wondered if Alaric would really compromise for Cecilia in the end.

Compromise and choose to break with her and the Monroe family.

But now, the Monroe family couldn't take risks and had to rely on Alaric.

Juniper had no choice but to please him.

Juniper walked over with a bright smile and said, "I just had a chat with Cecilia."

Mentioning Cecilia seemed to elicit a reaction from Alaric.

She said, "Cecilia is quite easy to talk to. I mustered a lot of courage, thinking she would be hard to approach, but she was much friendlier than I imagined."

Alaric opened his eyes and looked at her.

Juniper smiled, "Don't look at me like that. I'm not here to ruin your relationship. I'm here to persuade Cecilia. Anyway, Cecilia and I can never be friends, so I can only be the bad guy."

Alaric pursed his lips, his voice hoarse, "What did she say?"

"She didn't say anything." Juniper felt a bit frustrated, "But I think Cecilia is so smart, she will definitely figure it out and understand you."

Alaric fell silent again.

Juniper spoke, "If my father hadn't forced me not to say anything, I would have told Cecilia everything. Don't blame my father; he's looking out for me. What parent doesn't want their children to have a better life?"

"It wouldn't help," Alaric said in a low voice.

Telling the truth would only push Cecilia further away.

"The doctor said you can have some liquid food now. How about I get you some oatmeal?" Juniper changed the subject.

Mentioning Cecilia made Alaric noticeably more emotional.

She was actually jealous.

"No appetite," Alaric refused.

Juniper was about to offer some comfort when the door suddenly knocked.

George entered excitedly, "Ms. Lockhart ate. She just asked me to get her a bowl of oatmeal, and she finished it."

Alaric's eyes clearly moved.

Juniper also felt a wave of emotion.

It seemed she had succeeded.

She hadn't expected Cecilia to compromise so quickly.

Most people would have some emotions and hold out a bit longer, but Cecilia made her choice so quickly.

Rational to the point of being frightening.

"Ms. Monroe, thank you," George thanked her.

Juniper forced a smile.

Honestly.

Cecilia's compromise didn't make her feel good.

It meant Cecilia would live well with Alaric.

She minded, she really minded having Cecilia around Alaric.

But at this moment, she could only smile and say, "I just said what I had to say. Cecilia figured it out herself."

"Thank you so much," George thanked her again.

After delivering the message, he left excitedly.

Juniper turned to look at Alaric, and at that moment, his lips seemed to curve slightly.

She had never seen Alaric truly smile.

A genuine smile.

Any smile on his face was just a facade.

Just an expression.

"Have someone bring in some oatmeal," Alaric said.

So.

Because Cecilia ate, he had an appetite too.

Cecilia was the only one who could affect his emotions.

Juniper remained calm, smiling brightly, and quickly agreed, "Okay."

Then she got up to have someone bring in the oatmeal.

After a while, George brought it over.

It was what Cecilia hadn't finished.

Juniper took the bowl and spoon, intending to feed Alaric.

"Let George do it," Alaric said directly.

"Okay." Juniper felt a bit awkward but didn't refuse.

She knew she couldn't be too aggressive with Alaric now.

She had plenty of time.

No need to rush.

She sat by and watched George feed Alaric the oatmeal.

After all, Alaric's hand was also seriously injured and was receiving anti-inflammatory treatment.

"Can I have some of George's oatmeal?" Juniper suddenly asked.

"Is there any left?" Alaric asked.

"Yes, there's another bowl," George quickly said.

"Give her a bowl," Alaric ordered.

"Yes," George quickly served a bowl to Juniper.

Because Juniper had made Cecilia eat, George clearly had a good impression of her.
