Chapter 557 Success, Just Waiting for the Opportunity

From a distance, Dashiell heard Seraphina's shouting from the ladies' room. He paused for a moment, then casually strolled over to the door.

He'd heard Seraphina's disdain and rejection so many times that he was practically immune to it by now.

After her outburst, Seraphina felt like saying anything more to Penelope would just be a waste of breath.

As soon as she walked out, she saw Dashiell. Seraphina thought, 'No need to guess. With my loud voice just now, Dashiell must have heard it. Damn it!'

She felt a bit agitated; something inside her felt uneasy.

Just as she was about to say something, Penelope's gentle voice came from behind, "Dashiell, did you come here just to pick me up?"

Seraphina thought, 'Needing Dashiell to pick her up from the restroom is really too much.' She angrily walked past Dashiell.

As she walked past, she felt that her earlier words might have been a bit too much and turned back to explain.

But when she turned around, she saw Penelope throwing herself into Dashiell's arms.

He held Penelope tightly, their bodies pressed closely together. Penelope was even rubbing against him. In the next second, they...

Seraphina immediately turned away.

Seraphina thought, 'In a public place, it's simply too shameful. Dashiell, such a boring man, allowing Penelope to kiss him like that.' Then she quickly left.

Yet she didn't know that when Penelope deliberately kissed Dashiell, he avoided it.

At that moment, his large hand held Penelope's body, quickly took Penelope's phone from her coat pocket, and discreetly put it in his pocket.

However, Penelope was so focused on Dashiell that she completely forgot to check her phone.

"I thought you would agree for the sake of the disguise," Penelope said sarcastically.

Dashiell released her and said, "Let's go. I'll take you home."

"We're leaving already?" Penelope asked.

"Yes," Dashiell replied.

He took Penelope and walked out of the restaurant.

As Dashiell and Penelope walked out of the restaurant and stepped into the elevator, Sebastian and Seraphina entered as well.

Penelope sneered, "What a coincidence."

Seraphina glanced at Penelope, clearly displeased.

She couldn't understand why they left early too, shortly after she did.

Why couldn't Dashiell and Penelope stay a bit longer? Seraphina found just looking at them annoying.

"Dashiell, are you taking me home?" Penelope asked Dashiell gently.

Dashiell replied, "Yes."

"No one is home today," Penelope said, "Lyra had a minor car accident and is in the hospital; my mom and Dominic are with her."

Dashiell didn't respond.

"Don't you like mocha coffee?" Penelope continued, "When I was in college, I learned how to make mocha in my spare time. When you take me home, I'll make you a cup to try."

"Okay," Dashiell replied.

Seraphina listened, feeling like she was going to throw up everything she had eaten today.

The awkward part was that the elevator had mirrored walls.

Standing next to Sebastian, holding his arm, Seraphina could see Penelope holding Dashiell's hand through the mirrors, their fingers interlocked, with Penelope's chest pressed against Dashiell's arm.

Seraphina rolled her eyes, thinking, 'Could Penelope be any less reserved?'

With mirrored walls, everything was visible, and Penelope noticed Seraphina's subtle reactions.

Being able to disgust Seraphina gave Penelope a real sense of accomplishment.

When the elevator arrived, they each went their separate ways.

Dashiell drove Penelope home to the Kingsley Mansion. Upon arriving, he parked the car but had no intention of getting out.

Penelope bit her lip. "Not coming in for a bit?" she asked.

Dashiell responded, "No."

Penelope said, "Dashiell, you really are heartless."

Dashiell didn't argue.

"Alright," Penelope said, "One day, you'll be moved by me, and you'll fall in love with me."

With that, Penelope opened the car door and left angrily.

Dashiell watched her back for a moment, then started the car and drove away.

Dashiell returned to the FlavorFusion Bistro.

He quickly took out Penelope's phone and connected it to his laptop, which he had left in the car.

He then proceeded to type on his computer.

Quickly, he grabbed his phone and made a call. "Cassius, send someone to my car to retrieve the phone," he said.

Cassius asked, "Is it done?"

Dashiell replied, "Yes."

"Did you sell your feelings?" Cassius teased.

Dashiell didn't answer and directly hung up the phone.

After a while, someone knocked on the car door.

Dashiell handed the phone to the man, who took it and quickly left.

Twenty minutes later, Dashiell received a call from Cassius. "Penelope had just gone back to FlavorFusion Bistro to find her phone, and she had already retrieved it."

"Okay." Dashiell hung up and called Cecilia, "It's done."

Cecilia said, "So fast?"

"Yes," Dashiell said, "I installed tracking and monitoring software on Penelope's phone. The tracking software allows me to monitor her location as long as there's a network signal. The monitoring software lets me know her call content whenever she makes a call."

"You are so amazing!" Cecilia couldn't help but exclaim.

She really didn't know Dashiell had so many skills back then.

It was only after Dashiell and Seraphina broke up and Dashiell left the Yakurosean Empire and went abroad that she saw in an overseas report that Dashiell had become a software company owner and realized how amazing he was.

Dashiell was a bit shy from Cecilia's praise.

He said, "I'm actually not that great; Alaric is the amazing one."

"Why?" Cecilia was surprised and asked, "Can he do this too?"

"Not exactly," Dashiell said, "You'll find out later."

Cecilia frowned.

Dashiell always used "later" to brush her off.

Dashiell said, "I'm heading back."

"Okay." Putting down the phone, Cecilia smirked.

Everything was ready; all that was left was for the opportunity to arise. Dominic was digging his own grave!

On Monday, Alaric's second trial officially began. To avoid reporters, Cecilia and Cassius arrived early. Many others arrived shortly after.

Unlike the first trial, this one attracted more attention, as the Hotchner family was now involved.

In the courtroom, Cecilia sat in the audience, watching Gideon walk to the prosecution's position.

Dressed in a suit, Gideon looked upright and serious, appearing stern and focused.

Cecilia's eyes shifted slightly as she saw Alaric being brought into the courtroom again.
