Chapter 414 The Intense Quarrel Between Seraphina and Dashiell

Dashiell froze for a sec.

"Don't worry about it, I'll bounce!" Seraphina shot back.

In a flash, she yanked a suitcase from the closet and started chucking her stuff in like a madwoman.

Their shouting match caught Lucy's ear.

She rushed over, saw Dashiell holding a suitcase, then turned to see Seraphina's chaotic packing, and tried to calm things down, "Chill out, you guys can still have more kids! You're both young. Fighting's just gonna mess up your relationship."

"We don't have a relationship!" Seraphina snapped at Lucy.

Lucy was taken aback by Seraphina's tone.

It was like she had just stepped on a landmine, really setting her off.

Lucy didn't dare say another word, just watched Seraphina pack, too scared to help.

Dashiell watched her for a few seconds, silent.

He slowly picked up his phone and called Atticus. "Dad, can you send someone to pick up Seraphina?"

"What's going on? Is Seraphina throwing a fit again? I just sent her back, and now she wants to leave again?" Atticus sounded totally fed up.

He thought, 'Cecilia's killing it in the business world. Seraphina, though, is just a headache.'

"I need a break from Seraphina, it's my call," Dashiell said firmly.

"Why?" Atticus sounded skeptical.

Over the years, Atticus knew how much Dashiell was into Seraphina.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone through all that trouble to get them together.

Atticus tried to soothe him, "Dashiell, I know losing the baby sucks, but you're both young. Don't let this wreck your relationship. You and Seraphina can still have kids..."

"I don't want to push it anymore," Dashiell cut him off. "Seraphina needs to heal, and it's better if she's with you. Please come get her."

With that, Dashiell hung up.

Seraphina, while packing, had overheard Dashiell's call.

Her vision blurred with tears.

She was so done with Dashiell.

Why did he get to call all the shots?

Marriage was his call.

Now divorce was his call too.

What right did he have to run her life like this?

She angrily stuffed her things into the suitcase, ready to bolt.

Seraphina didn't want to be around Dashiell for another second.

"Mrs. Rainier, let me help you. You shouldn't lift heavy stuff after surgery," Lucy stepped in to assist.

"Don't touch me!" Seraphina snapped.

"Mrs. Rainier..." Lucy started.

"Don't call me that!" Seraphina roared.

Lucy was so freaked out she didn't know what to say.

"Don't call me Ms. Everhart either. I don't want to hear a word from you!" Seraphina barked at Lucy.

Lucy felt hurt.

She was just trying to help.

How could Seraphina be so mean?

She couldn't help but feel a bit stung and said, "Do you really hate me that much?"

"I hate anyone tied to Dashiell!" Seraphina spat.

Lucy was stunned.

She glanced at Dashiell, who was sitting in a wheelchair.

Lucy looked at him, her face blank.

It was like no matter what Seraphina threw at him, he just took it.

Seraphina was done talking. She didn't wanna see any of them ever again.

She grabbed her luggage and made a beeline for the door.

"Seraphina," Dashiell called out.

She didn't stop.

"Seraphina," he called again.

She kept walking.

Dashiell wheeled himself over fast.

Just as she opened the door, he slammed it shut.

"Dashiell, what the hell!" Seraphina snapped.

"Wait for your dad to pick you up," he said.

"No way!" she shouted back.

"It's better for you to go back to the Everhart Mansion," he insisted.

"Let go!" Seraphina was losing it.

"I said, wait for your dad..." Dashiell kept pushing.

In a fit of rage, Seraphina hurled her suitcase at his face.

Dashiell took the hit, the leather cutting into his skin, but he didn't make a sound.

Lucy screamed, "Blood!"

Seraphina saw the cut at the corner of Dashiell's eye from the suitcase's sharp edge.

She froze for a second.

She had really lost it.

Seeing the blood on Dashiell's face, she was genuinely shocked.

At that moment, she saw his cold gaze fixed on her.

The blood seemed to flow into his eye, making it look blood-red and terrifying.

Seraphina bit her lip, saying, "I hate it when you force me! You force me in everything! What right do you have to control me!"

The more she spoke, the more she broke down.

Her voice got louder and louder.

Dashiell's Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

He was clearly pissed, but he was holding it in, trying to swallow all his emotions.

He said, "Fine."

Seraphina's vision blurred, and tears started to fall.

"Do whatever you want," Dashiell said softly.

Then he wheeled himself away from the door.

Seraphina watched his cold back.

She didn't know why she felt so heartbroken.

It was like her heart was being torn apart.

She didn't understand why Dashiell made her so sad.

She shouted at his back, "Dashiell, there's no one worse than you in this world!"

Dashiell's figure paused.

In the end, he stayed silent, wheeling himself into the room.

He closed the door tightly behind him.

Seraphina clutched her chest, really heartbroken by Dashiell.

What right did he have to treat her like this?

"Mrs. Rainier, no, Ms. Everhart, please don't cry. You're still recovering from surgery," Lucy said, feeling sorry for her and quickly trying to comfort her.

Seraphina wiped away her tears.

She told herself it wasn't worth it to cry and hurt herself over a guy like Dashiell.

"Ms. Everhart, don't be sad. Mr. Rainier didn't mean to upset you. You know how much he was looking forward to the baby. Now that the baby's gone, it's natural for him to be emotional. Everything'll be fine once he calms down," Lucy kept comforting her.

It would never be fine again.

Seraphina grabbed her luggage and left without looking back.

Originally, she and Dashiell were forced together.

She wouldn't have any regrets!
